Nice weekend cycling from Ebbsfleet to Brussels, via Calais and Bruge.

The standard of roads, infrastructure and general acceptance of cyclists in Belgium is incredible.

I really didn't fancy the wind yesterday morning, so thought I'd drive to the Lee Valley Velo Park and try the outdoor mile long road track, really enjoyed it.

(no the wind was probably worse collecting off the side of the velodrome but it was nice not to have to contend with any traffic!)
An appropriate bike for the location too smile
Quite, well spotted mate !

Hi

For a dedicated winter/touring bike it's very good. Heavy, but as expected for a aluminium frame tbh.
I put my old Chris King wheelset on which really helps to remove some of the dead feeling of alu frames.

I spent the Easter Weekend on the Trans Cambrian way. What a trail! Great fun, lots of ups and downs, plenty of mud and gravel and slate and water.

I've been in Benicasim, Spain for the last 5 weeks. Here's the Top End Force hand cycle on the Grao to Benicasim cycle path earlier this morning

Nice bike, you'll fit in well around there on one of those. I haven't ridden up there before, I tend to head along the lake and down to Luzern, or back around and over Sattel back home to the Zurichsee, but it looks like a great view from up there

Thanks! Just head up the mountain in Walchwil at Restaurant Sternen. And Sattel/Aegeri is also one of my favorites. What is also really cool is mount Rigi from Goldau (SZ). Awesome view. Best with a Mountain Bike though (you can descend down to Lake Lucerne afterwards), but it's also just doable with a road bike. But there are gravel sections and the top is mega steep!

Thanks for the link, I'll have to check that out. My normal routes are around Buchenegg, Albispass, and the bits around Wollerau, Schindellegi, Menzingen, Sihlbrugg etc. I need to vary it a bit but I don't normally have more than 2-3 hours which limits the distance I can go sadly.

looks lovely, any chance of a route/gpx/strava thingy? Family live in Wylye and have always fancied a bit of riding down there
