In a very dark place. Three Peaks Cyclocross.

Would love to know more about this event! I've done the walk 2 and a half times (rained so much we abandoned about half way round) years ago, can't imagine what it's like riding/carrying a bike a round it...

A quicky before dinner. It was sunny when I set off, wasn't when I got to the top of the hill.

thumbup We've had a very dry winter and the Fire Service have recently done a load of backburning - hard to show the extent in a single photo but it's given the trails a very different feel

It's brutal. Fifth time round for me this year, but I'd injured my back nine weeks ago, so I was nowhere near in a fit shape. Took me an hour more than my expected time.

That rear spring looks hard, considered something like this? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Kind-Shock-Kindshock...

I fitted one similar on my lads Full suss Carrera and it works very well.

Not a lot of options for kids full suss bikes without spending daft money as "kids don't need suspension" so I ended up building one for my lad last year https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

I remember your sons build and i've been keeping an eye out for one, i saw this behemoth and stupidly didnt even stop to think they'd make it out of the heaviest steel known to Man, (I had that shock in mind, and is saved if i decide to keep it) bought it off facebook sales and traveled all the way to Cambridge to get it. DOH! It only holds her back on the ups, she flies down.

I’m in Germany for a couple of days with a few hours to spare so I took my bike with me smile

What an utterly brilliant way to spend a few hours and what a great place absolutely full of history (some not quite as good as others!)

I’m so pleased I threw my bike in the back of the van yes

Chain jump ended today's ride - got wedged between inner ring and carbon frame...

Anyway, coasted home, removed crank and looks like just the paint gone, LBS concurs. Due a new chain and cassette so should be back on the road tomorrow. Phew!

My missus is a Group Scout Leader, so naturally when the Beaver Group decides to head to Delamere Forest, I was first on the list to help out.

We managed 4 loops of the lakeside trail (12 miles), pretty good fun!

Did the Viking Challenge today. 50km MTB ride around the Vale of Bevoir.

It was a bit muddy.

For me, this is what cycling is all about. I love cycling with groups of kids. My own started *decent* distances like those you noted at about 5yo but by constantly bribing them with small snacks on the way round, they managed.

As we encouraged other families to join us, the kids hardly noticed the distances as they gabbled away at each other.

Thanks!

I have to say the adults enjoyed it as much as the kids.

The Leader started off thinking they’d do a lap before and a lap after lunch.

We ended up doing two before and two after.

A couple of spills on the way around, saw distraction techniques to avoid tears and they all got equally muddy at the end.

Already planning the next outing, which will be a loop of Llyn Brenig on the Denbighshire moors, slightly less mileage, but a bit more climbing....

A quick ride after being off the bike for 3 weeks. Felt so much harder even with just a short break like that.
