Headed from Flotterstone up the Pentlands yesterday. It was a bit chilly, and quiet but great fun.

First ride on my new bike.

Great! I've concentrated on road miles for the past couple of years and my old MTB was 21 years old so it's a huge improvement!

The 42 rear cog, coupled with a 26 up front means I can now cycle up hills I can barely walk up - I am loving it, have just ordered a front mudguard as I got fairly splattered yesterday but looking forward to many more offroad miles.

Recognise that, my stomping ground wavey done about 100 laps round there, more fun the faster you go. You local?

My first time there and I really enjoyed it. I definitely need to go faster but first time out it felt very narrow in places so was a bit over cautious.
Not very local unfortunately (west sussex). I was visiting relatives and managed to disappear for an hour or so to regain some sanity. But will definitely visit again.

I've lost count how many times I've clipped the trees at full chat biggrin It's fastest around April/May, dry but before the ferns have taken over for the Summer. If you get longer there's some good summer riding in Ringwood Forest up behind Verwood too.

As I'm debating whether to go play in the ice/slush today, I definitely don't miss Sydney at all hehe

Went out for a spin on the winter bikes with Eddh. Found some residual snow so did the only right and proper thing.
