Random route out to Swinley yesterday.
Getting there and back, and riding half red and all of blue came to 31 miles, and despite a couple of hail showers and a brief flurry of snow, and the sloppy ground in places, I really enjoyed myself...

It was all super smooth and super fun As for the piccie, the building is the old observatory and is just a shell, every time I’ve been before I’ve tried to take a decent photo but couldn’t frame it properly with a bike and the view - I quite like the result this time too
From Sat morning, all this was burned as a preemptive strike against bush fires about six months ago - lots of regrowth everywhere now, which is great to see. Can still smell the charcoal though...

Hows it going on this? I rode one on a demo day and loved it. I can see myself on one in 5 yrs time (when knees are more buggered than they are now) and hopefully by then tech will have moved on and the bikes will be a lot lighter.neilbauer said:

Loving it, went out twice yesterday until battery ran out. Going out again tomorrow I heard about the "Seven Hills of Goodwood" months ago, but hadn't had the chance to ride it. The route would take me up Duncton Hill as well so I added two more en route to make a round ten.
First hill, Steyning Bostal, weather didn't look promising.
Viewpoint near the top of Duncton, only hill #3, but already I was suffering.
The sculpture is called "Big Head" and is for sale.
Climbing up the tiny road from Charlton this is Goodwood race course. The other climb, up the main road from Charlton, has a section of 15% at the start, nearly broke me with one more climb and about 20 miles left to get home.

Nice Diverge, did you build it up from a frameset ?
Thanks. Yep, was done by the Concept Store in Chester. Its a really versatile bike, did 45 miles on road in the peaks yesterday on it and it was excellent. Span out a couple of times on a couple of longish descents but with the state of the roads around there it was perfect. Two days MTBing this weekend, the first around the Calver Valley in the Peaks, a bit muddy and sticky but with some good descents and actual sun! Then yesterday we were a bit further North around Calderdale and Norland moor, still mucky but a good route for wet weather and plenty of fun.
