Up t'north visiting my parents, thought I'd go for a bit of a ride out and around Linacre Reservoir. Much more in the way of climbs than I'm accustomed too though, think I've gotten too used to cycling in flat-as-a-pancake Bedfordshire...

No room to take my bike up in our MX-5 so my brother's father-in-law kindly lent me his Specialized Rockhopper. Nice bike, frame is a bit small for me though!

Would love to go there on a week day when it's a little quiter, a fair few dog walkers about today. Agreed, seems to be superb for MTBing around Chesterfield, wish I was more into riding when I actually lived here!

They're spaced far enough apart not to clash and the way it works is a (non-fixie) sprocket on each side of the wheel so we're both free to pedal or coast as we choose.
Because you each power one side of the wheel, if you pedal, do you go left, and if he pedals, do you go right?

wink
If only I pedal, we speed up, if only he pedals, we slow down. wink

Good pics folks! American, I rode the new aneurysm trail at Lysty last week. Needs more work I think! CMG track is a cracker though. Might do a run up there tomorrow night after work since its not too hot.

Ho ho ho. Quite literally the first time I've ever been described as butch.

And I kind of like it....

Aneurysm trail? I didn't know they had a new trail!

I ended up riding back to Richmond via the coast at the weekend - been taking it easy since, but it's the You Yangs again on Sunday!

Mine isn't as good as others but I'm only starting out. 3rd day riding for about 6 years and did 6.5 miles in about 35 mins. Going to try and up the distance a couple of miles every other week.

Could of been a bit further but I now feel like a proper cyclist. First puncture today!

Aye it's up by the junction of the valley view trail and the granite section of the CGT trail. It's got potential but needs to be more wider to get some decent speed up. The other trail is called Buckle Down. It extends from the follow me trail and joins up with the lower buckle track. I find the You Yangs a bit too man made for my liking although I do love giving creasys a good hammering!
