It was looking very autumnal today.

Very autumnal.

A nice stop for coffee and cake at a cycle centric cafe was in order.

Agree I need to mix it- I had plans today but then .... stuff happened and wanted to sneak in before darkness.

Sat outside the Golden Lion having a beer on the darkness

And an hour ago :

Nice... Years since I've bben in that pub. We nearly bought a house in Osmotherley when we moved up here.

A good ride is over to captain cook's monument. Cleveland way or one of the many other bridleways.

From there, there starts to become a network of mtb trails into Guisborough woods if you want to experiment with more techy stuff. Worth downloading trail forks...most are on there.
Plan A today was Capt. Cooks monument back home to Oz. But as said : Stuff.
I’ve missed getting miles in and some (known) miles are better than none !
I was thinking I need to shout you out actually whilst riding today- the clart through Thimbleby woods - not a prob for the tyres you recommended ! thumbup

A Very wet surrey hills, drive train sounded awful, full degrease regrease in progress. New chain on order and some wet lube. Also got a new casette to go on as some teeth are bent. Mental how much pissing around this bike takes.

Figured out why I was having so many problems with the derailleur... it wasn't screwed in properly. Going to thread lock it.

Snake Pass both ways for me today. I reckon the climb from Glossop (West to East) is my favourite climb I've done in the UK. Lovely constant ~6% gradient all the way up and pretty long (for the region) at around 4 miles. Never had too many issues with traffic either albeit there were loads of people around the reservoir today

It certainly was muddy!

We did a few trails on Pitch Hill and Norbury Hill yesterday morning. Rained the whole time and stopped when we headed home...

Yes, I moved down nearly 18 months ago now. We had no family connections in Farnborough, and once my boys had done the Uni thing there was nothing rooting us there. So after 20 years we upped sticks and moved down to my wife's home town so she could be closer to the care home where her mum is.

I've been busy exploring Dorset (and Wiltshire/Hampshire too) by bike since the move...

Been to Shaftesbury only a couple of times, and not managed to pass the Compton Abbas airfield café in daylight hours yet, but I'm slowly, surely "colouring in" the map and having great fun doing it!
Nice work on the map. Lots of good ride in North Dorset and so many more in the county. I miss being down there but ceasers and the all the local stuff keeps me busy lol

One from the ride this morning, snapped as I was riding along...

But the one I’m chuffed with is of the ride - had set myself the challenge of doing one of the regular loops in under 2 hours, bearing in mind I’m 6’2” and 35c-shod gravel bike/rider combo weighs about 100kg...

Strava suggests I was putting some effort into it...

Gave MrsPB something to laugh at when I got home and couldn’t speak...biggrin

Started November with a Dirty Gravel 90km. Very dirty, then it started raining, then monsoon rain, then hail just to add some spice. All in 30kph winds with 70kph gusts..... Still fun though.

I was out Tue, but no pics.

65-70km today. Unsure exactly as my TomTom watch threw a wobbly, including measuring a couple of km at over 140km/h!

Anyway, a sunny but cold day today:

Useful ....
