Looking at some pics over the weekend it looks like Mids groups has done a group ride around there this weekend with 200 people, so there's a good chance most of it is trashed for the foreseeable now anyway...
quite possibly....although i 'think' they mostly did FTD.

Couple of rides, yesterday on some local stuff - insanely muddy.

Today, some Surrey hills - more wet than muddy, some trails were almost dry, others were more swamp than trail, with bonus roots hidden in the 10ft long puddles. Was hilarious being more sideways than straight on some trails. Was also proud to do some nice steep, rooty, muddy chutes which turned out to be easy. This bike really is very, very good, the martello tyres are bloody awesome too.

Fuel cafe at Goldings Barn, after Small Dole in Sussex. A good place for petrol heads! The coffee was great, as were the cakes!

Local loop around the Flintshire / Cheshire borderlands and over onto the Wirral.

Cold but crisp conditions if a bit icy in places, the Grade and the GravelKings worked fine...

Treated myself to some homemade Bara Brith as a reward...

Quick local loop to see if I needed to put some knobblier tyres on the space chicken.

Yes, is the answer. Even my normal bone dry gravel route has turned into a slippy, wet, muddy, gravel route.

OOooo do like the Space Chicken.

Think that is the way I might head if / when I move away from MTBs

See the gravel thread biggrin

For me it's the perfect compliment to my mtb (150mm FS 29er, YT Jeffsy CF Pro Race) as I can ride some light off road from my door, anywhere from 10 miles to 100 miles. Great for this weather as I couldn't bear spending another hour washing half of the Surrey hills off the bike again today.

A short gentle loop a few minutes ago out of Oxford to Shotover country park. Taking advantage of the cold weather to give my gloves a run for their money. They passed with flying colours, but I could have used an extra pair of socks.

A short 30 mile round trip to Sharpness which is looking a bit sad although there is still some activity at this once busy port that is the gateway between the river Severn and the Glos-Sharpness canal.

It was an enjoyable ride along very minor roads with a great bridleway called Lip Lane thrown in for good measure although the last 200 yards was deep mud so I had to hike-a-bike, for a lot of the time I was the only one on the road - lovely! And that's some more 'running in' mileage on the Rohloff!

Snuck out at lunchtime yesterday. Nothing particularly interesting, just a quick lap of the Monkey plus some localised off piste. Sone bits were very dry, others swamp like, fun though.

The fires around Sydney have made for some startlingly red sunrises and smoky rides...

And one for the gravel bike thread...
