I'm enjoying a spot of lunch in the Exchequer pub, Crookham Village and someone has just ridden past in PH top.

wavey

Might have been me. I came past around 12.00 in a group of 3 or 4 (we had picked up a solo rider along crondall lane) - was about 53 miles into a 60 mile loop following for most part the Farnham 50 charity bike ride route from 2 or 3 yrs ago. I might have been in a little trouble being late for a lunch date with the in laws but we'd wanted to nudge it up to 60 as we have our 1st 100 miler in a couple of weeks weather permitting.

Exchequer is very nice for lunch - we occasionally walk down the canal for a furney copse farm sausage sandwich and pint.

Also a shout out for the pistonheader who spotted my MTB top and said hello in 'Pedal On' yesterday - apologies if i was a little vague - combination of a headache and being on a tight schedule to fit in a test ride and get home before lunchtime.

Could have been me, just returning from a Surrey Hills 80miler.

Went past at about 12:56 on my own black S-Works white lid.

It was a black bike with a white lid, top was the one with red shoulders.

So who was this at the 'Ard Moors Enduro? Was it a good race, the trails looked super quick and flowy

Someone in a skullcap, white glasses, and a white jacket over a PistonHeads jersey, seen in photos uploaded to Strava, at Velolife near Wargrave today.

I gotta get involved with a YES ride at some point...

I particularly liked the "Scott looks like he's about to do someone some damage" (#hardman) comment on one riders comment feed. wink

I'm on the Yateley cyclists Strava club, but have no Facebook presence, which is probably why I haven't really got involved properly. I'm also not super-confident riding in groups, following a few 'wobbly moments' and near misses a while ago while riding with/near others. But I'll be cribbing from your routes a bit, I think. I need to head north more, as there seems to be a lot of decent roads up Henley way...

I hadn't seen that comment by Nick until now! biggrin

Feel free to crib whatever you want. I can understand that feeling about riding in a group and so far I've not come across any problems with these guys.

Cheers Scott. But the 'wobbly moments' I was referring to were mine!!! Thankfully no contact was made, but a number of times now I've had a lapse of concentration while trying to get close enough to hold a conversation (I'm registered deaf) and ended up overlapping a wheel. It was off road too, so there tends to be a fair bit of movement in a group as the trails squeeze in and open out. I also worry about my deafness being a problem in company. Either I'll upset someone who thinks I'm ignoring them, or I'll wipe someone out because I didn't hear them close by me. But I follow a few of the YES riders on Strava, so maybe one day I'll reach out and try to snag an invite to a ride...

Yup. Apologies for holding up the traffic. You could all have overtaken me if there wasn't such a damned long queue going the other way!

I was having a pretty good ride,as it goes. Not setting any records on that particular segment, but a few PRs today and a 16.7mph average speed. Which might not sound much to many on here, but 14.5mph has been "on a good day" for me recently, so I'm well happy with that.

I'd been abused by a van driver earlier in the ride, on the hump-backed bridge over the railway near Fleet Station. Beeped at, and then he pulled alongside and made sure I could admire his manly beard and full-sleeve tattoos before giving me the "wker beans" and then the middle finger as I mocked him with a 'Royal Wave' at the roundabout. Bloody Neanderthals. Where the feck did he suppose I could go to move out of his way? Over the side of the bridge onto the electrified third rail below? And why, if I'm holding someone up, would they potentially waste a golden opportunity to overtake by remaining alongside discussing matters? Surely just GTF on with it and get on up the road?

You do know there is a strata segment over that bridge! Shame about the van driver.

Yup, "Station to Roundabout Sprint" - I've got three tied PR attempts @ 40 seconds on it. Yesterday I recorded my second (fourth, according to Strava) fastest time on it, only 2 seconds off the PR and 20.1 mph average over the sement. Ironically, it was slow motorised traffic from the station roundabout that kept me from a PR. Otherwise I wouldn't have been hanging around. It was one of my fastest rides in a long time...

I saw that, good stuff. At least you have made it outside this year, I think I have killed my PH top via sweat in the garage.

If it's the Barleymow down by the Basingstoke Canal out of Dogmersfield, then "not guilty, m'lud".

I was out to the north east yesterday, up as far as Crimp Hill and Windsor Great Park, but still flying PistonHeads colours. The old Owayo long-sleeved jacket with a red side panel. I've managed to embrace the shorts and mitts again with the mild weather we've had recently, but I'm still wearing long sleeved outer layers over a long sleeved base. I felt a wee bit overdressed at times yesterday, but when the breeze freshened it felt just about right.

Yeah thats the one. Im not in short kit yet lol, riding into work is a bit too chilly for it and I cant be arsed to carry a spare set of clothing to work and back. Still in longs untill double figures in the AM lol.

So who was it then???? Dogmersfield to Winchfield, just before the BarleyMow pub?
