Todmorden cyclocross, always filthy and fun.

Start to 2018 racing at Lee Valley. 3rd only - 21 riders - result 4th - 6 BC points.

One chap went away from the gun, I half chased him for 30 seconds then decided to abort and let the pack chase him, he had 5/6 team mates in the pack and no one could be bothered to chase him. Sat in the front and made sure I was going with the moves. usual last 5 lap carnage, got a great lead out from a friend on the last lap only to be out sprinted by two kids for 2nd place. My sprint seems to have dissapeared.

HR - 180 average 199 max
power - 263 average (3.37w/kg) - 301 NP - 984 max
cadance - 87 average - 129 max

The guy who won solo:

choppy race with a big ish field, 3 crashes etc etc. didn’t see the guy who jumped 1/2 a lap to go to win but led from the final corner to hammer the sprint.

Anyone know if British cycling still runs go-race events? Or is it a license and fourth cat the only way to give it a stab?

BC membership and race licence needed i’m afraid, big cost just to give it a go.

won at LVVP 3 cat yesterday. miserable weather was raining ice. 10 points so 24 total now from 3 races.

Nearly caught hyperthermia at the Beacon Park CX race today. It was a frozen mud bath. Last one of the season so had to give it a go!

Good work to do it by the end of Jan, well done. Although you do know that a 2nd cat circuit racer is equal to a 4th cat road racer?

going to sit down later with some other lads and sort our targets and goals for RR. not going to race for a few weeks now

i know it’s a different kettle of fish, need to lose a few kgs and get better at riding hard for 100km rather than 40/60 mins.
