She faces a lengthy ban after having failed her drugs test for the Australian Open this year.

I'd be happy to step in and have a "relationship" with her.

They made the substance illegal in January. She's been taking it for 10 years legally.

She'll get a fine.

Well, everyone with half a brain would have thought it hehe Every professional sport has a doping problem, cycling and athletics are more open about it than most and hence cop a lot of flak from deluded fans of other sports.

None so blind etc...

Hmm.
Not sure what I think.
How well publicised was the banning of the substance in January?

Not sure, but I would have thought that all professional athletes would have got the memo, at least.

I'm in no way a professional athlete and yet I get the emails from WADA about changes to the banned substance lists (I think because I'm registered with England Athletics).

Keeping abreast of the WADA lists is a basic administration task for any athlete.

Thought she admitted that she got the WADA email with a link to the banned substances but never clicked on it?

Indeed. When someone earns $40 million a year and that could be lost by taking the wrong substance you'd think it would be in their (and their many coaches/advisers) interest to know the legality of everything (especially known performance enhancers) they take on a daily basis.

Yup, it's like remembering to train or forgetting the olympics were on and missing your race.

It's to her credit that she's not tried to dodge responsibility or (publicly) blame her support team. Not that she gains any sympathy from me for that, but it's so often "someone else's fault" when sportspeople are caught.
