First ride in for ages this morning. Shame that the driving standards around Cultcheth and Birchwood haven't improved.

Nice ride in this morning, my plan was to ride all week as it was my first chnce since the summer. Crashed on tuesday night and hurt my knee. Felt alright on the way in this morning.

Came across a girl who had fallen off this morning (on the road), didnt see it happen but heard it. Cars were just driving past, so I stopped in front of her so there was a flashing light between her on the floor and the traffic. Cue some dhead on a Brompton repeatedly dinging his bell at me for (I assume) being on the wrong side of the road, before cycling off. I'm amazed nobody else stopped to help her.

I get that every day - except today, I am at home.

Like a different season today compared to the last few days, still chilly but not -5 or 6c!

Seemed a lot warmer when I set off home so didn't bother with the gloves. BIG mistake. My left hand was blue when I finally got home.

On the plus side I'm now 1 stone lighter than I was at the beginning of September. Yey.

Still lovely and cold, it's great like this (until I fall off.)

Oddly, it was still frosty in the valleys, and all melted at the top of the hill, which I think is wrong. smile

It was nice riding in during the daylight, as I had a Physio apt first thing.

Was she alright? How was her bike?

Seemed fine, didn't want any fuss, just wasn't safe being splayed across the road.

She was on a boris bike, so that section of road will probably need resurfacing rather than the bike repaired. Quite fit, although it was dark.

My first commute with lights as I had an 8:00 meeting. Which I found out was cancelled when I got to the office.

As others have mentioned, was pretty warm this morning compared to earlier in the week. More moisture in the air though, so still felt cold but in a different way!

I was testing out Orux Maps this morning as it seems like a good app for following a route. You can download maps (so no requirement for having data on whilst on the move) and it has a night mode so the screen is darker which combined will use a lot less battery than just using Strava.

I tracked using Strava and Orux this morning and uploaded them, so according to Strava I did a group ride with myself. Interesting the different GPS data gathered from the same device at the same time. Just goes to show how fickle Strava can be!

Felt really warm compared to recent days but following lots of fog overnight there was loads of black ice. Received a few warnings from other cyclists and stopped to offer support to another who had fallen off.

I did stop and chat for a bit and made sure he was ok, but in hindsight regret not offering to cycle gently in with him.

I love these crisp, clear mornings.

Was a bit slow today as I'm still recovering from a brutal session with the personal trainer on Saturday and also mindful I'm back in there at 6.45 tomorrow.

Then it all goes a bit Pete Tong. Works drinks on Wednesday, a BIG social on Friday and at least five alcohol-fueled bashes over the course of Saturday and Sunday.

Sweating like anything this morning. Sooooo warm.

Slightly quicker that when it was cold too, felt like a tailwind, but just on me as the trees weren't moving.

A good day, all told!

Freezing fog on the fens, managed to feel completely lost on a straight section I've ridden hundreds of times.
