I just saw an ad for a new series, where Amuricans ask their parents to pick their husband/wife for them!?!?

Seriously, who dreams this stuff up? Could it be genuine, or just some typical 'reality based television' drivel?

I somehow doubt I will ever watch an episode, but it is scary the stuff they think people will want to watch.

I thought they meant that the parent was officiating.

I actually went to a wedding when the grooms mother officiated. Which is kind of nice, but you don't ever, ever want your mother to utter the words 'and I don't just mean erotic love'

Your parents shouldn't talk about erotic love ever. Let alone at your wedding.

An yet arranged marriages aren't abnormal in all walks of life.

I was married by the wife's Dad and Step mum as they are the vicars in their local parish.

It was very cool, especially when the Dad turned one way and gave her away and then the other way and married us.
