Hi,

I'm still pottering around car shopping and all of my family is in agreement now that the BMW 3 series is very nice indeed. We've been hearing a lot about the problems of diesel pollution and we live in an area that has been put in for the diesel tax (potentially £20 a day). We then saw the 330e.

I just wondered if anyone here owns a 330e and what it's like and what the service and MOT costs are like. We take our current car to an independent mechanic and he does all that's needed for £150 a year. Do you think the 330e would be like that or would we have to go to the BMW garage and end up paying loads?

Thanks!

If you're looking at a new car the ULEZ won't apply diesel or petrol.

presumably if the 330e is a good car it's worth considering though?

It depends on how many miles you do, is it worth the extra over the equivalent petrol vs your annual mileage?

We wouldn't be buying it to save money but because it's a comfy car and responsible environmental choice, and an interesting piece of technical equipment.
