I bought my CX bike second hand from eBay. It's been an amazing bike with 000's kms clocked up but just want to buy new this time.

The Canyon is great value but I do see your point in that it's great kit built around an average frame.

I still have a Trek hardtail which is perfectly servicable but I'm keen to see and experience the new tech.

Carbon is out as I may want to attach our Hamax child carrier on occasion and also a trailer for holidays.

I've got a Rose and a Canyon. My experience of customer service with both has been very positive. No complaints at all.

Bike arrived today 3 days ahead of the estimated despatch date. Hopefully take it out tonight. One question - the forks are Fox Float34 - are the supposed to lock out 100%? when dialled to firm there is still some slight flex

It should lock out firm. How much movement is there? Move the stanchion o ring to the base then ride. The bike looks stealth!

My front forks still have a couple of millimeters or so movement on lockout (Suntour NCX E-RL air, 63mm travel). This is documented as normal.

I recently got a Scott Scale 735 and this has the fox 3 lock position, and after reading the manual they will firm up but never truly lock up, not sure if the 34s are the same as the 32.

Thanks for the replies. After looking into it the PSI was very low and after watching some youtube videos I have set the forks up to suit my weight/riding etc. I had assumed they would come pre-loaded to an average setting but it seems they were very low/empty. Maybe they come like this, maybe it's a Canyon thing because of the shipping from Germany.

Initial thoughts:

Dropper post is a revelation.
Handlebars seems too wide, maybe thats the new normal?
Brakes are awesome.
Eagle is OK.
MTB is a grind after so long on the road bike!
Lots of fun.
