Make sure you try them on without bolting the cleats on first. I bought some shoes from merlin and of course you bolt the cleats on so you can try them on the bike. They weren't right and merlin wouldn't let me return them. In fact they were pretty rude and unhelpful about it.
Ended up flogging them on Ebay ??
In the last couple of weeks I've bought:
Carbon bars on eBay for the grand sum of £35
Fizik classic super light bar tape in blue
Lezyne USB2 rechargeable front and rear lights.
Wifey also bought me a gore jersey (my preferred brand), but that is being exchanged as it's too big)
It's my birthday in a coupe of weeks and I'm hoping that the birthday fairy will bring me some Sidi Genuis Shoes. My shimano ones are six years old and looking pretty tired, but amazingly they aren't falling apart unlike my shimano MTV shoes which are falling apart.
Thanks for the heads up but all ok fit wise. Made sure to try them on before they got wrapped up for Christmas :-) Ended up flogging them on Ebay ??

Picked up some Northwave Raptor GTX boots for just over £100 thanks to the ebay 20% off deal the other day, in full 'enduro' orange and camo, of course.
2nd pair of clipless to go with my old Shimano M086's that I've had since about 2009, great shoes but not so great in the mud and rain and cold, the NW boots will be perfect for winter/spring/autumn riding.
I suppose I had better buy a bike soon...

Just bought two Schwalbe G-one tyres, one to replace the front Kojak I sliced open yesterday on a load of glass some *evil swearword* had scattered across the bike road (and successfully punctured a load of people's tyres, it was carnage) and one to replace the worn rear. I also bought a tubeless kit as the new tyres are tubeless-ready, as are my wheels. The Kojaks aren't designed to be run tubeless although some people have managed it with a lot of sealant.
I also got a rohloff hub oil kit for my alfine IGH. The rohloff kit is cheaper than the Shimano one and perceived wisdom is that the rohloff oil is better.

No patients were delayed in the unboxing of these beauties today.
Parcours make a nice wheelset. Can't wait to ride them when the weather improves. Nice surprise was the cheeky pair of sunglasses they put in the box!
Only thing i'm not sure about is the valve decal in white. Anyone know how to remove a decal from a carbon wheel without ruining it?

Acetone or nail polish remover is fine on carbon wheels, Zipp, Reynolds etc recommend it. Parcours make a nice wheelset. Can't wait to ride them when the weather improves. Nice surprise was the cheeky pair of sunglasses they put in the box!

Nice. I've just bought a pair of the road equivalents - wish they offered the same camo scheme though.
A pair of 700c x 33mm Racing Ralphs
A pair of 28 - 38mm innertubes to go with them
in the interests of taking my CX bike for a spin along the Ridgeway to see how well it copes. Swiftly followed by:
A 105 11spd rear mech
A DuraAce 11spd chain
A DuraAce 11 spd quick link
A rear mech hanger
A rear gear cable inner
because it didn't cope as well as it might have done...
It rode very well, but sticky clay with rocks in it was too much - between three of us we had one flat and two broken rear mechs, in both cases because stones stuck to the chains and jammed the jockey wheels.
The chips on the chainstay were caused by the same rock-filled clay getting packed into the 'gills' on the back of the 105 chainset - not a smart design for offroad use.

Asked Parcours about the decal, had a same day reply letting me know I could return the wheelset and they could do a special order without the decal, as they're under a clear coat lacquer that is applied at point of manufacture. VERY impressed by the company and their communication etc. I'll just live with it, as removal would also invalidate the warranty.
