Picked up some Northwave Raptor GTX boots for just over £100 thanks to the ebay 20% off deal the other day, in full 'enduro' orange and camo, of course.
This thread is just as dangerous as 'Frivolous purchases' My wallet holds you directly responsible for this:

I like that a lot. Which jacket is it and where from? https://northwave.com/en/p/blade-2-total-protectio...
Building a new trail bike to replace my rather XC based current one, current bike is a 26" 100mm Full suss, Litespeed Niota Al frame, 5th Element shock, WC spec SIDs and weighs in at 9.8Kg.
Bought
Whyte T-129 frame with original Monarch RL shock - 2013
26" Rockshox Revelation RL - 2010
29" Rev lowers (new, just £40, in stealth Matte black)
29" wheelset (WTB i19 race rims on Novatech 772 hubs, 15x100/12x142.
some odds and sods
Rev's rebuilt with latest 'dig valve' rebound damper (from my box o'spares) as a 140mm travel fork, currently no compression damper and waiting on the X-loc from the SIDs, am looking at modifying that to add some high speed compression damping.
Bike built up into a rolling chassis.
Next move will be to strip the Niota and clean and service all the parts before transferring to the Whyte, will be a 29" 140/120mm and come in at somewhere between 12 and 12.5kg, 1x10 gearing (X0 cranks, XTR rear mech and Sunrace MX3 cassette, Formula R1s brakes, lightweight stem and bars).
Just need a dropper as my 31.6 dropper from the Litespeed won't fit the 30.9 Whyte, will get that once I start selling the parts off the Litesepeed, in the meantime its running a shim I had laying about and a 27.2mm post from my daughters Scott.

I do like them! But I'm struggling to justify £170 for shoes! Pros? Cons? Waterproof?
What are the sizing like. Runs Smaller/Larger?

lol, you got RAPED HARD!
£99 for a light which should have cost £9 ..
show me a decent light for £9...£99 for a light which should have cost £9 ..
As for lights, I got chatting to some random guy at work as he saw me in my commuting gear. Never seen him before! He excitedly showed me a light on Evans mobile site for £260! "but is reduced from £370"
I just said WTF!
His justification was that he rides 1 mile each way every day. So 600miles a year. He buys cheap lights for £16 on eBay but they don't last very long. So he reckons this is a better economy. I did point out he could buy 10 £15 jobs and still be up! I showed him my Lezyne ones that were about £30 each. And said they were all he needed. But he wouldn't have it!

Re the lights, i have a mixed bag of Lenzyme, Bontrager (as the LBS is a Trek dealer) and i got this Garmin light that links to the computer and tells you if a car is coming behind you. Im a bit deaf but dont want to chance wearing the hearing aids while on the bike as the wind interferes with them. The Lenzyne lights work well, as does the garmin. Can recommend

Re the shoes, yeah these are nice. I have northwave and find them to be too wide. They are fine though if you have hobbit feet hahaha joke.I wear Mavic as they fit more snug.

That lamp sound great for road riding! I recently picked up a new lamp too, a Hope R4+ from CRC for £115.00, it's great for blasting through the woods!Re the lights, i have a mixed bag of Lenzyme, Bontrager (as the LBS is a Trek dealer) and i got this Garmin light that links to the computer and tells you if a car is coming behind you.
