Got them on my Fuji Transonic. Thought my Shimano RS80s were better, but they were over £100 more expensive. Found the Cosines were a pig to fit new tyres too, but could be the tyres.
Out of interest, in what way did you think the RS80s were better?

I am a bit new to road bikes and i'm only riding a Claris equipped Giant Contend 2, but I noticed a massive difference - but the pair are 700g lighter than the original SR-2 wheels (2200g) - and they feel plenty stiff enough when climbing, or stood up and pushing hard.

Agree on the tyre front! I swapped my standard Contend 2 tyres (SR4s?) and tubes over to them and could not get the bead to sit right - opposite the valve was worst with the diameter there much smaller. When rotated and viewed form the side, the tyre bobbed up and down. In the end I pumped them up to over 125 psi and they were still making loud pinging noises once I had finished as the bead was slipping to where it was supposed to be. Next time i'll use a little soap on the bead I think.

Hmmmm?

I looked at Wiggle for Cosine wheels, and there are none listed on the "wheels" section of the store. No option for 'Cosine' in the filters either. The historic Google links I found took me to some "Item No Longer Available" page results. Have they been ditched as a brand now? A couple of forums, including SingleTrackWorld have threads running suggesting we've seen the last of the "brand" too.

I also found an amusing YouTube video called "How to make your own fake wheel company"... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bb7eCgLbLI

...although it's not safe for work (somewhat 'fruity' language).
Yeah I think the brand has been discontinued, I picked them up on eBay for £130 which I felt was great value for such a light and very well reviewed budget wheelset.

I treated myself to a set of these, I already run Carbon wheels and have done for about 5 years on MTB's so no worries there, dividing some opinions already!

Seen these recently on GMBN and thought they look very different to spoked wheels and rather retro but they are growing on me.Are they heavier than spoked carbon rim wheels.

No way, when I saw the press release for these I really thought they would be a "zero sale" product.

"Complete wheelsets are claimed to start at 1,750g."

So heavier than my stock 29er alloy wheelset - My 26er carbon wheel set is much less, and same 24mm width.

Would be interesting to hear how they ride.

Banjo Brothers frame bag in the Planet X closeout sale.

Really impressed with it, fits perfectly in my GT Grade fame.

Picture off the web, haven't photographed it on mine yet.

Plus some valves and jizz stuff to setup my wheels ghetto tubeless.

Definitely a lovely looking bike.

The original Orro Gold was high up there on my "want list" when I ended up buying my Emonda. Really nice in the showroom, but in the end I had to pick on or t'other and I went with the Trek.

It looks like a very modern, highly developed distant cousin to the Raleigh Record Sprint I had in the 1980s. I've got an eye on some on ebay right now, but the damned things are either too big, too ropey, too expensive, or all three!

About the same weight as my current WTB Ci24 carbon wheels now and same internal width. This is a purely aesthetic purchase wink apart from the odly placed valve? I have also requested the Orange logo to be Blue to match the rest of my steaalth and blue Foxy.

Wow, a person has actually bought the non repairable, hideously ugly, non proven wheels that everyone thought would never sell. Just proves that there's a market for everything if you find someone with enough money to waste.

Having just spent the winter increasing the distance I ride my mountain bike on the road (up to about 25 miles), I thought it was about time to join the dark side and buy one of those girly bikes with narrow tyres wink

Just placed an order for a heavily discounted Cube Attain SL Disc 2017.

A crazy bout of man logic meant I just bought a 2nd hand Rockshox Lyrik 160mm Boost fork, bought because I wanted to build up a new front wheel as I have a DT Swiss EX471 rim and thought why buy a new but already out of date 100mm front hub to fit my current forks (2014 Pike 160mm), I should buy a boost hub, that that meant I needed boost forks.

The fact I also had a Raleigh Record Sprint in the 80's is probably part of the reason!

There's one on ebay now in the right size for me (minus wheels which is fine as I'd put mine on). But it's 'old' Ultegra and that doesn't feel right smile

Edit: Unless you mean you're looking at Record Sprints in which case am pretty sure they didn't come with Ultegra, new or otherwise

Nice bike. I very nearly purchased an Attain disk the other week before opting for a Wilier instead.
It rode really nicely and for the price was a bargain.

I think they could be the way forward, don't think you could buckle one of those and easy to clean and a lifetime warranty perfect. These were around in the 90's and a bit before their time, maybe they might make a popular comeback.
