New rear wheel for the gravel bike - Novatec hub laced to Alexrims 23 - basically a 29er mtb wheel cos my LBS is bored with rebuilding my original wheel...biggrin

Makes a proper clicky noise too!

Have fitted it with a new Schwalbe Marathon Plus so will be interesting to compare with the previous Clement UPH, which was pretty damn good.

What you have before? The wheels the cause of the slow time or other factors you think? I had planned a set of Hunts but may not bother now

Mavic Asksium. It was the engine that was misfiring. Expected to be a lot slower, so with the same effort I expect to be quicker.

Absolutely not needed, as there was nothing wrong with my old wheels, but I've been hankering after a set of Navigator 5-spokes for my track bike for a while now. Just test-fitted in the picture below as I'm still figuring out how to set up the speed sensor on the wheel without a hub or any spokes for a magnet.

Magnet in the valve hole?

Nice!

PX site only shows the black version as a frameset.

Bought a Wahoo Elemnt Bolt from Rutland Cycles. Couldn't find any discounts on the Bolt anywhere but Rutland are currently doing a reward scheme where you get back 20% of any purchase on accessories in reward points, so I've now got £40 credit to spend on something else from them

Thanks for the suggestion, but I figured it out last week after a bit of trial and error.

Wahoo speed sensor mounted on the chainstay with a 2cm diameter rare earth magnet stuck with 3M VHB tape to the spoke opposite the valve. Magnet is black powder coated, so fairly invisible on the wheel.

One of my stem bolts has started to round off, so of course that is a great excuse to replace them all with titanium bolts!

NIPPLES biggrin

My nipples turned up today... so my forefinger and thumb have been hard at work on some DT Swiss spokes and rims this evening.

I now have a 2 new wheels built up, all straight and lovely.

.....I just have the rest of the bike to build up now on another lightweight mtb build. (bike no 7: n+1 rule is awesome)
