Tried a set of Race Matrix disc pads from Uberbike.... First go with them in Greno Woods yesterday, impressed.
Cool, I’ve heard good things about them, so may give them a try next time. Last time I tried non-Shimano pads they were rubbish. This morning I ordered a cheap DT Swiss boost front wheel to fit to the Fox forks I bought for my hardtail. I also had to buy a centrelock to 6 bolt conversion kit. And lastly, a star nut, so I should now have everything to fit my new fork now. Fortunately I am able to borrow the few tools I don’t have from a friend.
I've got Race Matrix on my mountain bike and they are excellent. More excitingly though, I also upgraded the pads on my Giant Defy (TRP Spyre) to Race Matrix and they are now EXCELLENT. I was toying with going Hydraulic but I now think that they are so capable that I probably won't bother.
Cool.

I spoke too soon, I didn't order a new tubeless valve. I must admit that I was surprised with CRC/Yodel - I got the parcels through this morning, after ordering them on Friday, on the free postage.Winters coming...
Just bought these northwave winter boots, £92.99 after discount codes VBOXSS and VB10 applied as well.

After eyeing eBay, FB marketplace and all the forums over the last few weeks I took the plunge this afternoon and ordered a 2018 Giant Trinity Advanced from Rutland Cycles for £1400.
To get something half decent would've been £800-1000, then plus a service and changing a few bits over I'm nearly at the entry price point for a beginners TT bike.
Trinity seems like a good starter, 105 5800 parts with DA shifters and Giant's own aero brakes. Decent frame, fork and cockpit to start with.
Got 2 TTs left this year so hoping it might be here and set up for next Tuesday but we'll see. Then it'll probably be upgraded all over winter ready for next season

Nothing exciting, just the parts and oil to service my manitou forks. I decided after 6 years that they probably needed some tlc.........
Oh and some dot 5.1 as my hope brakes (which are even older) probably also need some attention.
In my defense, I have kept the drivetrain properly lubed, the wheels trued and replaced worn brake pads a few times.
Actually, I should probably check my discs.
Oh and persuade my wife I need a bike based on a frame that’s less that 16 years old.

My 2010 Trinity has served me very well over the years. 2 Ironmans, Numerous Olympic and Sprint Distances, been abroad twice, A century Sportive, quite a lot of bar tape (white looks great but does show the dirt!), a million (maybe) inner tubes , thousands and thousands of miles, a crash that destroyed various shimano bits! Some horrible bone shaking pothole impacts! I know people don't rate Giants, since they aren't trendy, but in my experience its been great! I hope yours is just as reliable.
