My haul just arrived...

- ODI Rogues
I finally got round to treating myself to a pair of these after a recommendation from a guy that chased me all through a downhill rooty section... no 'hand buzz' or arm pump apparently.

I've only put 60 miles of mostly road and towpath on them so far - but they are great, super grippy.

Trialled this weird saddle today - on one week's hire. 90 mile ride today was a revelation for someone who suffers from persistent bruised and blistered sit-bone area from longer rides, eg recent 300 km Audax.

Where is the weight taken when you're riding?

Colour me interested in the proposition.

Body is supported mainly at the rear, which curves upwards and helps when putting the power down, and the sides. The 'skeleton' has noticeable flex and I found myself unweighting less on general road ripples. http://infinitybikeseat.com/the-science-behind-the... explains how it's supposed to work. Reviews on their website are positive but I sense some product placement amongst the Ride Across America crowd. Another review here https://www.ozy.com/good-sht/this-barely-there-bik...

I've had some pain in the unoperated knee after yesterday's ride - have tried to finesse the saddle position since. It's far more than I ever thought I'd pay for a saddle - if I keep it then man maths will justify the purchase as saving £5 pw on Compeed blister plasters! There are few UK stockists - mine came from TenPoint in Amersham who are specialist bike fitters. I guess if saddle sores are transient and you're not riding consecutive days then it's probably overkill.

Thank you, I'll take a look.

I use an ISM Adamo, which was fine for LEJOG in 9 days, but if I want to get to Gruffy worrying levels, I might need to reconsider...

(Not my pics)

Some new Castelli Overbooties. Tend to last couple years or so. So happy enough

5 Conti Inner Tubes

And a Zefal emergency sealent thingy (For race use - after a puncture in my last one cost me 15 mins! )

Thanks to a price match on the booties. And a £10 off over £50 voucher from RideLondon. So from Evans Gatwick the whole lot was under £41 clap

I got my first addition for my new MTB - A pair of DMR Deathgrips.

I was going to go with the same Santa Cruz Palmdales that were on my last bike, I liked them, but was swayed by the reviews. One ride in, and they are noticeably better than stock. I went for the bigger, softer version, and they feel very forgiving. We'll see if they last on longer rides!

I'm really pleased with my Deathgrips, I get less hand plain than with my old Ergon grips, which are designed to avoid hand pain. The DMR grips were also half the price. Will be getting another pair for my hardtail.

The tubeless valve cores on my hardtail are gunked up, so I've bought 4 spare cores, 2 to use and 2 to keep as spares. I also bought some spare quick links, after splitting my chain at the weekend and misplacing the links rolleyes

Pair of Light Bicycle EN728 Carbon rims on DT Swiss 350’s with a 34T ratchet. Always thought Carbon rims a waste of money, I will see how I get on. I went for them as I had some Easton ARC27’s and I liked the width and the weight was ok however I dented them into dead condition in no time. The EN728’s are 1mm wider about 30g lighter but if the hype is to be believed a shed loads stronger.

Just fitted mine. They are sticky!!! Looking forward to my trip down to Cornwall on the bike now.

That, along with the Charge Spoon, I think I’ll be fairly happy!

The Rogues are good grips, but I’ll be replacing them with Deathgrips, as they are even better. The Spoon is a great saddle though.

Fail by Lewis Craik, on Flickr
This happened, so I've had to buy a new mech, hanger and quick link for the chain (as I lost them breaking the chain to get home). Not a happy bunny.

Haha.

Tbf the Bolt I bought a few months back! I’m just so busy with work I barely post these days...

Also looking at Raceware or F3 Cycling stem bolt mount with Exposure light/Go Pro fitting for the Elemnt Bolt & Trace/Joystick:

Replaced the awful Reynolds Assault rims with these Miche RC38's.
£700 with new Pirelli tyres which seems a pretty good deal and hopefully an end to the cross wind drama the Reynolds seemed to be so good at.

XX1 cassette, possibly the most bling part I’ve ever bought it is impressively light though.
