Just received some bits from Galibier. A Mistral jacket, Mistral toe covers and Ardennes light winter gloves. The nice people at Galibier put a complimentary buff in the parcel as well.
Seems great quality kit and good value to boot. I'm almost looking forward to some inclement weather to try it all out
I've got a few bits of galibier stuff, fantastic value and well designed with none of the inflated costs associated with some other brands. I can highly recommend their deep winter gloves.Seems great quality kit and good value to boot. I'm almost looking forward to some inclement weather to try it all out
I take it that these are the LIDL lights you guys are on about? link here
if they're as bright as you say they are for both then i'm quite tempted. I don't need it for unlit trails as i'm in london but there's a couple of stretches of roads that have no street lights so would like a steady beam just to be able to see what's directly infront of me. the rear has it mounted vertical in that photo but horizontal in the photo posted on here.. i suppose you can mount the rear both ways right?

Be aware that the rear light is quite small. It fits in the same mounting bracket as the larger rear light sold separately. I bought the front/rear set, and the rear on it's own, for my elder son's commuting last year. He uses the larger rear light as a primary. The smaller rear that came in the set he zips into the chest pocket of his jacket as a back-up solution. Very convenient as it is a straight swap into the same bracket as the main rear light. Still going strong with him using the lights six days per week.if they're as bright as you say they are for both then i'm quite tempted. And yes, the interface with the bracket is a square on the back of the light so it can be rotated through 90° to mount vertically or horizontally. If I'd known they were available again I'd have bought another 2 sets, one for myself and the other for my younger son...

2 sets of some of the best lights around :-) certainly bright and give me great road presence day or night
Currently on sale, £79.99 at Rutland.https://www.rutlandcycling.com/accessories/lights/...
Could do with a bit more light for commutes and post work rides on unlit roads. I wanted a remote button for dipping when traffic comes and the ability to mount under a Garmin (which ruled out the cheaper Raveman PR1200).
Took advantage of the extra 10% off lights from Evans. Feels like a real quality bit of kit.

I've been using one for a few years now. Being a road specific lens, I've never needed to turn it down/been flashed etc. Great beam, and works well on unlit roads I have as part of my commute. I use day light mode in summer, and never had any adverse comments about that either.bigdom said:

Excellent - looking forward to getting out with it. One thing I did fine out yesterday is that the 2019 version (Strada RS) has a smaller 5400mAh battery. The Strada 1200 (which I got) is a 7800mAh pack so longer runtime CoolC said:
Do you have a link? they look a much more elegant solution than the HY/RD I have on mine.
edgesports seem to be the sole UK distributor of Juin Tech currently. Here's the:R1 https://www.edgesportsuk.com/store/juin-tech/juin-...
F1 https://www.edgesportsuk.com/store/juin-tech/juin-...
GT-P https://www.edgesportsuk.com/store/juin-tech/juin-...
GT-P certainly looks the bees' knees, being a 4-pot caliper!
I imagine edgesports will sell individual calipers, or pairs without the rotors, if you ask. Mine were a pair from eBay sold for £65 as "fitted to bike but never used" which seems true. You can buy direct from the Far East but in my experience with carbon wheels you can be hit for hefty customs duties. I use Jagwire compressionless cables - was a right PITA to fit the rear to an internally cabled carbon frame but worth doing.

For comparison my light set up is as follows.
Front:. this topeak front light
Rear: lezyne femto rear
both do the job that i need it for (to be seen) and are easy to put on/off and throw in your bag. But part of me wants to be frivilous and buy something else and use those as backups that i always keep in my bag. Either something much better, or something i can permanently attach and not worry about.

I bought the ones that Aldi did the other week. The Cree LED rechargeable numbers, they are very acceptable, on full whack they’re as bright as my Halogen car lights, and only cost 15 quid for the front and rear. I got a couple of sets, sticking both the fronts on at full whack has lit up some ‘can’t see your hand in front of your face’ dark country lanes very nicely, and I got about 4 hours from a full charge ( albeit not on full for the entire time).if they're as bright as you say they are for both then i'm quite tempted.
