Shimano BB, I had planned to upgrade to Hope, but I was doing a check the day before a trip out when I noticed the BB was gone, so had to buy whatever my LBS had in stock.
In my experience Shimano BBs are the best quality AND the cheapest. I wouldn't bother with any other brand.

If you like DIY bike maintenance and chewing through money then go for FSA Gosammer Mega Exo outboard cups.

Agree with this too - after going through Wheels Manufacturing push-fits at a surprising rate, the lads down at the LBS suggested going with Shimano - saves money, last longer and less pain when they do make a bid for freedom.

Probably sit in a ‘just in case’ box and never see the light of day again!

Seriously though.. might hang onto it. Not discounting option of getting a frame only come new bike time and the di2 would shift across, and old Ultegra go back on for winter/Zwift duties.

If I sell, it’s just over a year old with 3000 miles on it and kept in good condition.
If you do decide to sell and do a fellow member a good deal....I'll be interested

To replace my trusty Lazer dented when I went over the bars last Saturday. Just £10 in PX sale but reviews seem OK.

Sounds good!

Can't believe I'm Past the wear markers on the wheels that came with my emonda sl6. 10,000 odd km but in rain and shine on country roads.

I haven't been religious about cleaning but been pretty good.

What mileage have others seen on their wheels?
I'm still running the original Bontrager wheels on my (2015) Emonda SL6. 10,260 miles on them in some quite grotty conditions, including two muddy rides (one on rural lanes, one on NCN4 Thames Path) this year as part of the Festive 500. I'm not concerned about them wearing out either. At least I wasn't until you mentioned it, so now I'll be getting a vernier caliper on them before the next ride!

I must have ridden at least 25,000 miles on my old Falcon Pro-Line, but that, too, was on it's original rims until I put the derailleur through the rear wheel. The hubs (bearing cups) are wearing on those wheels, so not worth repairing. Old, heavy wheels too, overbuilt so perhaps that's why they'd lasted so long. Shimano Exage 300 hubs and 32 spoke Rigida rims.

I don't recall ever having to buy new wheels, in fact. Not sure what that says about my riding style, probably means I ride so slowly that my brakes don't have to work very hard! wink

Oh, and I nipped out just now to check the Emonda's wheels. They're OK. Those wear indicator 'dimples' next to the valves are still visible at least...

A new frame to use up a load of mismatched parts I had, those wheels are temporary, on the hunt for something suitable.

10,000km on a set of Fulcrum Racing 3. About a third worn.

I clean the friction surface of the rim and pads every time I feel above normal brake lever forces are required. That can mean after every longish wet ride. I often end up having to pick aluminium flakes out of the pad surface.

Have ordered this print for the pain cave as a bit of inspiration.

Photochromic Oakley Jawbreakers.
Wow, so clear in the dark and cuts the glare out in the city centre at night too. Seriously impressed. Also looking forward to using them in the summer when they will hopefully tint up to decent level.

I’m going to take them in to bike shop to get them double checked. They will rebuild them with new rims and spokes for £230 but feels a bit triggers broom!

There’s probably better wheels out there like the Cero’s i’ve just bought for just a tickle more.

I was getting fed up of my cheap TacX blue matic trainer, especially having to spin out my 50x12 to get higher power numbers in order to use Zwifts estimated power curve with a dumb trainer.

Then spotted this cheap smart trainer from Halfords - An Elite Novo down at £180. Also had 10% discount through work (not a member of BC) so picked it up for £162 in the end. Took for a quick test ride last night and the initial power figures seem closer to what the wattbike in the gym is giving (probably 15-20% up on the TacX estimated power). Looking forward to trying out the ERG side of it on Zwift. Does mean another FTP test though!

Black stem top cap and matching black bolt from Burgtec... Not particularly expensive or exciting but looks nice and finishes off the cockpit a treat.

I bought the same turbo trainer over the winter in an effort to get fit. Have started using it seriously over the last couple of weeks with TrainerRoad and it feels like it is working really well. I hope you get on with it!

SunRace 11-36 cassette to preserve my knees on the serious steeps. Had to buy from Germany as no UK stockists it seems. Intrigued to see that SunRace own the Sturmey Archer brand - that's a blast from the past!

Did an FTP test last night and was pleasantly surprised at the results vs the classic trainer. Does seem closer to what I'd had on the wattbike in the gym. Looking forward to testing it out a bit more over the weekend

Some GP5000 tubeless tyres, and the bits to make them work - am collecting an Ultegra Cervélo S5 later - everything else is to change it to Di2

Front and rear derailleurs - hydraulic shifters, cables, junction boxes etc.........

Got out for a quick 20k in the new Le Col thermal bib tights yesterday. Bloody lovely things, super warm. Great pad. Very happy with them.

My Spatz arrived today, typically on a rare day when I didn’t ride in

First impressions say in the office - comfy and toasty AF. Looking forward to getting them out and about.
Interested to know how these really perform in the wet? Sick of any overshoe i’ve tried... never waterproof.
Sorry, missed this.

They're great. outside wet and muddy. Inside nice and warm and clean. Get some moisture in there from sweating etc. but as with a wetsuit it just keeps you warm.

Check some of the reviews online. I'm yet to see anything negative. A few people on IG have bought based on my purchase and are happy it seems.

How much did the Di2 bits cost you in total?

I was planning an eTap upgrade for mine in a few months but if Di2 works out cheaper then I could go down that route. I'm just intimidated by the number of individual bits and bobs that need to be bought.

Just over a grand for the Di2 parts - would have been cheaper had it been rim brakes - all from bike 24 in Germany.

I have di2 on my other bikes, and really like syncro shift so etap wasn’t really a consideration.
