Mine are hairy, but having crashed many times on both trail and road I am pretty sure that it is far more necessary for road cyclists. Ouch.

I came second in a time trial last year...lost by 30 seconds. The winner also had hairy legs!

Well shaved them over the weekend and some points:

1) Disposable razors wear out quickly (I used about 10)
2) Use cream, I didn't and now my legs are itchy and sore
3) Don't whatsapp the wife, she will just laugh
4) Don't whatsapp family. they will just laugh
5) Don't whatsapp anyone
6) They look good, have not left the house
7) The question remains, where to stop. I didn't and went over my chest and non-existent six pack.

If i was gay, i would marry myself.

Hope this helps.

Why do pros shave their legs? Because they're off their tits on performance enhancing drugs.

Came off my bike yesterday at relatively low speed, I'm convinced if I had hairy legs, my road rash would have been bad - as it is, it should heal by the end of the week smile

it looks cool in a gay way if you have decent legs

my misses has however banned me from doing it.

I have enough trouble shaving my face properly so don't bother although I'm not really hairy anyway
This! Shaving anything is dull at best, painful at worst. If you think it makes you faster then crack on, but to me it makes you look like you are trying to hard, so is the opposite of cool.

If you make it to 2nd cat you'd be the only person in a race with hairy legs hehe

I do, looks better with lycra, is easier if you bin it, which isn't uncommon while racing. And apparently makes a tiny bit of difference aero wise when riding at 30mph, which is generally the speed I ride TT's at which can be won or lost by 1 second, and I've actually tied a few over the years!

If you're having to ask the question then I wouldn't bother. For many that compete, its not even a question smile

And you can more easily pass yourself off as gay, if the need arises.
Gay men prefer men with hairy legs.

if you oil your legs you get even less air resistance

In both races last week I saw one or two lads with hairy legs. My immediate thought was to stay as far away from them as possible ... and guess what happened? Both races included a crash and the hairy legs lads were on the deck.

This is no coincidencebiglaugh

I've never had issues with gfs from my hairless legs - it'll grow back eventually, if I let it tongue out I'm so used to it now (both me and the guys I ride with) that men with hairy legs are the odd ones laugh

Just trying to see if anyone knew of the benefits of shaving the hair from the leg's? I can not see enough to do it!
I did it back in the 60s because it was simpler to put on the Embrocation.

I used to race about 9/10 years ago and was a 2nd cat / decent TTer. I never shaved my legs and I was often the only hirsute person in the race! It would also be fair to say that I got a few funny looks along the lines alluded to by JEA1K (luckily I never binned it)

I'm planning to start racing again soon and am undecided whether to shave or not... Main issue for me is that I spend my life in shorts (including for work) so not sure I can be bothered with the funny looks / questions scratchchin

laugh Missed it too. Why the fk would you not use shaving foam? No wonder you went through so many razors!! Also, I assume you trimmed them down with clippers first? If not, amateur wink

Funny thing was I actually went to buy some clippers and then decided, how hard could it be?!

I might be reaching for the moisture and Vaseline. Things are itchy! Told the blokes at work and they grimmiced when asked if used the sensitive shavers.

I heard this.

Wind tunnel tests showed Castrol Edge 0w-30 works best, shaving off 1.00760004 seconds over 20 miles.

However, this gain turns negative if more than six flies stick to your legs.

I'm just wondering why has no one has mentioned Veet hair removal creme for men? So much easier!!..... plus, you have some spare time then to paint your nails too.

I have to leave mine hairy as the missus says she doesnt want to be the one with the hairiest legs - (shes already managed that though)laugh
