That time of year again when they tease us with discounted but still expensive st.

the real question is who can hold their nerve long enough to get to the 50% discount in a few weeks, or do you buy now and get the color you want.

im after the aero jersey, i fked my other one in a crash (being repaired by rapha kindly). its on at £105 or £115 for the LS.

I was gifted a Rapha Ultralight Climbers Jersey for my birthday a few years ago, it is my only piece of Rapha clothing. I do like it, but I don't like it any more than my reasonably priced 'made in the uk' Lusso kit so I still won't be spending any of my own money on any more!

I held out last year for the back pack right until the last few days when it was 50% off then an extra 10% off that price in the last few days.

I do like Rapha stuff, I've got a fair bit, I think they're trying to cover too many different bases at the moment though, I can't keep up with the Flyweight, ultra weight etc.

Classic and Pro range are plenty for me.

I'm really liking the Brevet range, as it seems to be more the kind of thing I want to wear.

I don't need anything though. So I'll hold out til the end and see if there is anything I want.

If the price of what you buy now goes down more you can contact them and if they have that size in stock they will normally give you a credit code for the difference.

I finally gave in and ordered the Pro Team Rain Cape. Still bloody expensive but it's just arrived and it's a lovely bit of kit.

Also just found that they have the longsleeve core jerseys down from £85 to £50. For some reason they don't show on either the sale or jersey pages but if you use the search bar, they're there. So I ordered one of those. And some winter tights that also didn't show up anywhere else on the website unless you search for them but were also in the sale.

My wife is going to go apest when she sees more Rapha orders on the credit card.

You're not the only one to indulge.

The Walmart founders just dropped £200m on Rapha.

Which I believe is a pair of bib shorts, two jerseys, a set of armwarmers and a silk pocket square decorated with the family crest of an ionic 1930's professional cyclist only 3 people have ever heard of.

(Waiting for "final reductions".)

They're the easiest to use, as they're already in grainy black and white in their photos...

I ordered an Etape du Tour jersey as I really wanted it and I'd be gutted if it went out of stock. I could do with another pair of shorts and a rain cape but will hold out for the big reductions before going for them I think.

Final 10% off has arrived, with the whole she-bang ending on Sunday, apparently.

Good luck if you find anything else you like...

Typical! My Fausto Coppi jersey and merino jumper only arrived yesterday.

Still, I've had about £250 of savings in total out of this sale so can't grumble too much. Probably had 40% off on average.

Out of interest, has anyone been to the Rapha discount store in Shepton Mallet? It's a couple of hours drive from me so do-able, if it's worth the journey.

The prices are not as low as they will be now, in the sale, but a little better than the first round of the sale when it is first announced.

Their stock can be a bit low, so won't always have what you want in stock, so very similar to outlet shopping. For a 2 hour drive I'd say it is only worth going if it is a small detour, not a special trip, but others may disagree.

That is a bargain. I’ve just been through the stuff on offer and it’s really tempting...

I’m working hard to persuade myself that I mustn’t join the RCC just so that I can get the discounted club wind jacket!

its a huge club, 3000 people in london alone or something. I could say the same about dynamo or any other non race club.

for me it works perfectly, i have people to ride with whenever i need to, dont have to commit to anything, and a good bunch to race with.

when i get higher up the cats i might change, but untill then suits me fine.

and the kit is nice.

The whole thing (like the brand in general) is as wky as it gets IMO. If I worked near the shop I would consider joining for free coffee, as its not bad at all.
