£3k+ for a decent E-MTB that only goes 15mph when you pedal along and you cant take the battery on a flight, far too restrictive for me personally.
Ironic. When you pedal along you can do any speed, you surely understand ?
There are many, many stupid people that think eBikes are limited to 15mph..... It’s almost like they don’t have pedals and gears....

Who takes a bike on a plane? Never seen it myself. Wouldn't you just hire one?

You'll love this than, £11k, no motor at all, looks like a design from 10 years ago.https://www.specialized.com/gb/en/shop/bikes/road-...

Indeed! I've topped out at a frankly scary 34.5mph downhill. Needless to say, I wasn't pedalling at the time!

Apparently ‘it’s a thing’. But there is a new scene where you can rent a battery at the other end.Who takes a bike on a plane? Never seen it myself. Wouldn't you just hire one?
I saw it on the t’internets

As they say, buy best, buy once.
But horses for courses may apply?
I've hammered my Bergamont eMTB over the past 2 odd years and it keeps on giving. At the time I thought £3k was a hefty sum. Now it seems like a bargain.
I’ve done 6,000 commuting KMs on my Cube Bosch hybrid and about 1,000 off-road easy trail work in 20 months. But horses for courses may apply?

At €900 purchased, that really was a bargain! Still running beautifully with just the normal consumables to replace and renew along the way. Chain, cassette, chainring, one set of brake pads and swapped in a set of Big Apple tyres for the commute, that’s been it.

7,000kms and only replaced one set of brake pads ! it does go to explain how offroading creates a different picture. I was shocked to seen mine worn out in 500miles (and just trailing). At €900 purchased, that really was a bargain! Drove past a takeway earlier and it had a funky looking electric Just Eat bike outside, so just looked it up:

I bet they'll get pinched and stripped of all logo's etc and make a decent run around for some person.https://www.eskuta.com/pages/justeat £795+vat

I didn't get an Orbea in the end, waiting to see how long the home working went on etc,
Glad I waited, like the look of this

I have a perfectly good full suspension mountain bike and I still hire a bike when I go to centre parks.Who takes a bike on a plane? Never seen it myself. Wouldn't you just hire one?
But, then you are never pedalling for more than 15minutes between two points.

Looks terrific. I might have had one if they’d been available in May. But I’m glad I didn’t wait - I’ve had a lot of fun with my Gain F30 over the summerI'm allured to the idea of an Electric MTB. I'm a reasonable road cyclist, under 40 with both non electric road and gravel options. As I don't commute I don't see the necessity in an electric option in either of those but think an E MTB would be great for long XC rides and I'd still get the workout but just more enjoyment out of climbing. That's not because it takes the effort away but because it makes a technical climb more achievable. I live near the North York Moors and there are some rides which could actually be done on a green Laning motorbike but might be equally entertaining on an E bike.
