I've been thinking for a while now that I want a new road bike to upgrade from my current one and it got me looking online at various manufacturers and specs and wondering what I'd buy if money was no object.

After some careful thought, I think it would be between:

https://www.canyon.com/en-gb/road/endurace/2018/en...

Or:

http://www.pinarello.com/en/bike-2018/road/gan-k-d...

I'm not saying these are the absolute best out there, but they kind of float my boat (if you know what I mean).

So.....what would you buy (road/mountain/cx etc)?

I would still ride an Orange Four, it would have better components than the one I have now, but the bike it perfect for what I do.

Part of the beauty of cycling is that it is a lot more realistic to own your dream bike than your dream car!

Money no objection and you'd choose a Canyon?

For me I'd go for:

Pegoretti Responsorium in Ciavete with pre 2015 Super Record mechanical and Bora Ultra 35.

Colnago C59 in AD4 with pre 2015 Super Record mechanical and Bora Ultra 50.

Colnago C60 in MHCF with Super Record EPS and Bora Ultra 50.

I know what you're saying.....there's just something about that bike that I really, really like for some reason. It just looks right.

I'd probably end up with a Colnago C64 with SRAM Red etap etc.

But I would be very tempted by a Passoni of one sort or another

Quite tempted by a Laverack Jack currently, Ultegra Di2 flavour, probably in custom Geo.

Do they do Cycle Scheme?

That's fantastic.

Think I'd need a somewhat better FTP though before I could justifiably ride that! biggrin

Pretty fortunate with a couple of decent bikes, but if I had the space -

But with Fernwegs.

And this for commuting (without the disc):

I accept it reflects a severe lack of imagination however for me it'd be the Specialized S-Works Tarmac Disc. There's something about it that, for me, makes it look perfect.

Definitely custom geo. They're built to order anyway so you might as well.

Money no object I honestly don't think I'd choose much different from my current setup. My J Laverack is as good as it gets for going long and the Canyon Aeroad is still my favourite looking fast bike. I might swap for the disc-braked version (controversial, I'm sure, but it would be faster on the descents) and I guess the components would be a bit more bling.

In this fantasy world (where it wouldn't be nicked in 3 minutes) I'd choose a sexy ride for cruising the streets or a fully tricked out TT setup.

^ Can imagine the chat with the bank.... "oh hi Mr Leyorkie.... it looks like someone has used your card to buy £15000 worth of Heroin?"

Cervelo S5, in MTN Qubekha colours, on Lightweight Fehnwegs.
