What are your goals for 2019?

I have relatively modest aims this year since our baby arrived in October. I am still potentially doing Paris-Brest-Paris, but no other plans. I’ll be doing as many weekend club rides as I can but suspect my mileage is going to take a hammering this year.

Over to you...

Aiming for 3000 miles, bit more than last year. Bored of sportives so not planning on doing any of them this year. But am planning on doing the cross country race series at Bedgebury pinetum with a couple of mates including the 6 hour marathon one. On the road I’m going to do some Tuesday night TTs with Gravesend CC on my road bike to see how I get on.

Um...how does modest aims equate to PBP!?!? 😳
I'm struggling with goals for this year. I broke my scapula and a rib in August, and although that's all healed, I get a nagging pain above my elbow. It makes rides over 3 hours not exactly painful but less pleasant, so planning longer rides is tricky. Last year was the first year in 4 or 5 that I haven't ridden 5,000 miles so would like to get back to that level.
I'm thinking of achievable training goals, and keeping the longer ride plans in my head for now

I meant that it’s only one aim/event for the year, albeit a rather long one! I did LEL in 2017 so I have a good idea of the training and logistics involved.

The road or MTB TransAlp? I did the former a few years ago - let me know if you need any tips!

Tore ankle ligaments in a stupid crash in September and only started riding again in the last Month or so, so for me it's about shifting the weight I gained and getting fit again.

Got my eye firmly on Ride100, and if I don't get a place, there's a local 100 Sportive in September I've got bookmarked.

Entered my first ever enduro race (Welsh Gravity Enduro) in April. I've barely been out on the bike so it's just something to give me abit of focus and encouragement to ride with a target in mind.
If I enjoy it I might try and do the other rounds.

As other years, break through 6,000 miles for the year, I've got my 4th consecutive 'Battle On The Beach' entry in for April, and either mend or dispose of one of three non-running frames I've got stashed at the back of the garage...

Smaller goals from me this year due to the arrival of a little one

1200 miles
Retain current FTP/slightly increase it (I'll be doing more turbo work than outdoors)
Solo or Duo Revolve 24 and beat previous best Lap time
The normal segment goals I set locally too.

Build on last year;

Over 4k miles for the year
Over 300k feet for the year

The above NOT including Zwift.

FTP to 300 (I'll revise this up / down when I've actually done an FTP test on Zwift but I reckon it's somewhere around 270)

Over 400 miles in 24h TT (my stretch target is 450)

I'd love also to tick off the Taiwan KOM but that'll depend on lots of things.

Mainly - receive and not crash the new bike.

Do some CX races. So hopefully spend the first part of the year getting fitter towards that.

Another with a little one arriving a few months ago, my goal is 2000 miles, with at least one century thrown in.

Mixture of roadie and MTB.

Might also enter my first enduro race on the MTB, entry fee of £50 seems pretty high to me though, would this be down to high demand?

7800 miles for the year. I was on course for it last year but combination of broken ribs and then godawful cough put paid to that.

That said, I haven't actually ridden yet this year......

Mine are quite simple

Loose the 1 stone of ballast I seem to have gained, and cycle more. I did bugger all last year thanks to illness and injury.

No events planned this year because of the above, but plan on doing a couple of routes, the first being the Greensands ridge (because I live on it, and it can be done in a day) and the Ridgeway to Stonehenge and back.

2000 mtb miles is my target this year, I did 700 miles from April last year so trying basically double that.

Also want to upgrade to a new bike, if I'm halfway my target by June I'll be rewarding myself biggrin

Started Cycling November 2016
Weighing in at 136.4kg

Did ~5500Miles in 2017
As The Crow Flies to New York
Ended at 95kg

Last year Ended my Year at ~87kg
Did 7200Miles - Cape Town
My FTP in May as 347w (i don't do the test often, everybody knows its no fun)

This year it's Bejing
Target for this year is ~80kg
7800miles

My Miles do include wattbike mileage because i can't get on the real bike for 2/5 of the year because of work!

Got the Etape Loch Ness Booked
Gonna book up the Isle of Mull Sportive
Possibly the Arran Sportive
I'd really like to do the Three Lighthouse Challenge on the IOM but that's not gonna be this year!

10000 miles.

Actually do some races instead of fannying around and making excuses.

Have fun.

I’ve binned the Strava off as of the end of last year.

I’ve started using ‘AllTrails’ not because I wanted a strava alternative, just to keep an eye on annual mileage and so my wife can track me when I’m riding solo.

Vague plans to love back wheel a bit more, learn to enduro turn and leave no air unwhipped.
