I've given up on waterproof socks, as if water gets in from the top your feet get cold very quickly. I now wear merino socks, which dry quickly and keep your feet warm, even when they are wet.

I also wear Decathlon base layers under my usual long sleeve jersey.

Minus 5degC on the way in this morning.

Generally warm enough in a thin lycra top/softshell/thin windproof shell, but my skull felt like it was squeezing my brain, despite a thin cap under my helmet.

I think it's balaclava time.

I wear an old pair of ski trousers I had laying around and they are great. Pair of lidl or aldi (can never remember ) lightweight work boots. Warm socks. Waterproof spray over everything. Sorted.
