Cotic is 510 so a little bit longer. I have a local independent bike mechanic I use, very MTB orientated so I'll get him to fit the cushcores if I get them. Did you get front and back? Pro or XC?

I need tyre advice too, would be interested to know your thoughts as you ride a similar bike. But I'll start another thread for that I think
Just the rear. It's overkill for the front IME...unless you're regularly burping the front tyre / breaking rims.

Mine are the standard ones... Not tried the xc version so can't comment.

Tyres wise. Depends where you live. For muddy / clay conditions you can't beat Magic Mary front as an all round tyre.

But I do use wet scream front on a spare wheel if the trails are completely trashed. This is not a tyre to pedal any distance on though and they're lethal on hard pack.

Rear... whatever is quick- ish rolling. My Pole has a semi-slick maxxis minion. But then I don't mind the rear sliding around so this has been on all year.

Normal minion or Hans dampf would be a good compromise if youbwant a more balanced front rear grip.

For drier climes, or if you only ride trail centre hard pack, minions front and rear work well, but they lose out to the magic mary front / Hans dampf rear combo for all round trail centre and natural.

Thanks for all the info, I'll do some research, there is far too much tyre choice these days. I don't like riding in complete slop so a tyre for thick mud isnt a priority. Soft woodland trails to harder, dustier trails in the summer is the range I need to cover if possible. One tyre to suit all conditions is the unobtainable type I need!

Have this coming in May, deposit down and order confirmed. Very very similar geo to the Growler I tried so am confident it'll suit me. I can personalise the spec a little so need to do some research into stems, tyres and bash guards maybe but will pester you all for advice in a new thread for that.
Have to say so far the customer service at Cotic is brilliant, have spoken to Paul the owner on a number of occasions and no question is too much trouble for him and he's helped me tweak the spec to suit me and my budget. Looking forward to seeing the bike in May.

Liking that a lot. And May isn't that far away, just in time for the perfect summer we're due! See you at Swinley smile

Thanks Fas, yeah I can cope with a May delivery. Time flies when you're having as much fun as we all are at the moment!

Will try and get to Swinley and use their hire bikes before then, hopefully see you there. You can show me how it's all supposed to be ridden!
