Nothing of great interest really. Five minutes earlier and I could have had some good shots of a couple of Draken International's Dassault Falcons taking off from Bournemouth (Hurn) airport, but the second aeroplane was "brakes off" and away down the runway just as I pulled in to a spot from where I could take the pictures. Right place, wrong time...

Up the top of Ramsdown hill/St Catherine's Hill? I used to enjoy some of the little tracks up there but not been up in ages. I get not riding on the sandy bits cos of the lizards but the North West side of St cats where most of the tracks were weren't where the lizards are, standard dog walkers taking offence to anyone having fun I guess!

Not St Cat's, but the bottom (southern) edge of Ramsdown Plantation, yes. Where it's quite close to the Spur Road junction. I'd been "splashing around" in Hurn Forest and was on my way home. I almost ended up at the bridleway that actually crosses the Spur Road, but thankfully the track leading to it was one almighty puddle (that's one road crossing most people won't do twice!). Ramsdown Hill is the one with the fenced viewing area at the top, I presume? Apologies if my knowledge isn't great, but I've only been a "local" for a couple of years after my wife decided we were moving back to her home town. I hadn't intended to go that far east, but I was looking for a direct route home and got myself a bit confused at one point after I entered Ramsdown Plantation off Avon Causeway. I took a smaller path up the hill to start with instead of following the main route through the middle. As for St Cat's Hill? I've ridden there a few times, and most of the bits that actually have 'No Cycling' signs up I wouldn't want to ride on anyway. There are (or were two years or so ago) still a couple of nice tracks on the hill that seemed to be regularly ridden by youngsters who also seemed to do some trail maintenance.

Took the gravel bike on a couple of new singletrack sections lunchtime - was a bit rockier than expected but nothing too troublesome…

Not today's ride but Sunday just gone. Round 2 of the enduro series I'm doing this year, semi pleased with my result, 10th in class and 33rd overall I'm never gonna be at the very front but I'd like a little better than that, beat my mate for the 4th time on the trot which is more important anyway!
