Been there before, finished a long, hot and sweaty ride at the local, pint of lager taken outside then sheepishly walked back inside for another about 3 minutes later.

I get a pint of tap water to rehydrate with first now.

I couldn't get on the Fizik Vento adaptive 3D printed saddle my new bike came with so swapped back to my old Fizik Antares and comfort has improved. Probably width related as it's 150mm compared the 140mm Antares that I've been riding for seven years.

It's for sale on eBay and Facebook.

That's the thing with saddles. There is often very little relation between price and comfort/suitability. It's such a personal thing. I have been using Charge Spoons for a good 15 years I think because they're extremely comfortable for me to the point where I quickly dropped padded shorts and zero discomfort irrespective of distance.
They're £20 and regularly on offer at £15.

I'm with you on the Charge Spoons, the problem with other saddles is that the best way to know if it will work for you is a long ride on one, so it is hard to buy reliably, hence I just stick to what I know works.

I went through a process of buying and selling used saddles on eBay until I found one I got on with. Some saddles I made a loss, some a profit, but essentially broke even by the time I settled on my current Fizik Antares. I'd never buy a new saddle without knowing it's a keeper, specially not a high end saddle.

Tap water, in Luxembourg? Not a chance of that at a bar or restaurant!
Bottled water only……

Whilst I’m waiting for Mr Loudlashadjuster of this parish to join me, I thought I’d share pics of work stands found on Luxembourg’s cycle routes. This one is in Senningerberg.

And next to it …..

Very handy if you’re unfamiliar with knotting a tube if you don’t have a spare.

That's great. Sadly in war torn UK that would end up wrecked.

Finally ticked off a route I've been wanting to complete for some time. ~250km crossing the state of Victoria into New South Wales.

A great route mostly on gravel but a stonking headwind unfortunately. The real fun came from needing to be at the border for the last train home, I made it with about 10 minutes to spare much to my own and my wife's relief

20 mile Friday with a little stop for a Jammy Dodger at Alport Heights. Fairly regular route for me, cycle from my house and within 10 minutes I'm off the main roads onto empty B roads, where you'll see 1 or 2 cars. Ran into another chap on his bike who got chatting to, did the same route for the same reasons, no traffic, nice and peaceful.

Some big hills that really get your heart going as well.

Strava link? Looks epic.

Picked up some sexy new wheels for road spec Aspero. Can't wait to get them on the bike. Fulcrum Wind 40 basically.
