I bought the Galibier soller mitts. They wore out rather quick (a few months of actual use). I contacted them as I noted they do repairs.

They responded as usual with first line "We trade honestly". Which is rather defensive straight off the bat?

They offered to supply me with a new pair at cost price. I followed up 4 times over the following weeks. They never got back to me. Very odd. I ended up just leaving a review on the mitts. Of course they don't sell them anymore though.

I liked their kit but that experience left me feeling a bit miffed so kinda avoid them now.

Another time I sent them a return via special delivery and they weren't in to receive it and it wasn't picked up for several days after. I contacted them to see if they can check it and they claimed they knew nothing of it and that my gripe should be with the post office. Again, they put in the email "WE TRADE HONESTLY". Odd email manners. I'd understand if I had accused them of something but both times I was merely querying.

Rapha core stuff is decent for the money. I’ve spent more on Assos gear and other stuff further up the Rapha price brackets but the law of diminishing returns springs to mind. The core stuff is good enough and I prefer it to the other Rapha stuff I have. I’m a fan of the Assos base layers and winter jacket though. Bibs wise DhB is good enough for me.

How much would you pay for this item of clothing that looks like its been found down the side of a students bed?

$69.95 Wow, there is no justification for that.

I have a couple of pro pieces and find the zips better than core. Plus the barcode lines look kinda cool. Would never pay list price for that and not expecting sales like they used to have. Most I got post Christmas at Bicester village.

They probably did wonders for the industry. Not been cycling that long but recall most budget stuff being really bad, and most high end European brands looked awful.

On the cheaper end of the scale, I like some of the decathlon range. The cheaper decathlon stuff can be a bit rubbish but their more expensive stuff is decent.

On the pricier gear I tend to go for le col shorts/tights as the pad fits well and last well. The constant £50 off via strava challenges brings them down to a reasonable price.

For tops I've been buying a lot of Stolen Goat stuff, I like their styles and the fit suits me, but you're looking £70+ for a jersey which isn't cheap

Le Col have strayed into devaluing their rrp, everyone knows that they’ll be a £50 off voucher just around the corner and for me I’ll never buy anything from them without that discount.

The couple of pairs of bibs I have that rrp at £120 are not worth it but at £70 they make sense. They have another challenge starting in a few weeks!

Yup, although I'm also beginning to accept i'm a tight ass.

I was going to grab a new pair of Fox gloves as my current favourite ones are getting a bit thin on a couple of fingers. At £45 with supposedly 10% off I will get another summer out mine, I'm certain they were £20-25 around 18 months ago.
I think Fox Ranger gloves are £25 but Fox Flexairs (slightly thinner, shinier material) are £40.....I cant see any benefit in spending the extra £15

Agreed my Decathlon MTB Trousers and Waterproof Jacket (think they are AM branded) are excellent quality. Better than the Fox equivalent which is double the price.

On a related note, if anyone Is going to order something from Le Col wants a free Le Col gilet (you need to spend £100 and both of us get a gilet) then drop me a message and I'll send you the code for it.

I'm guessing said referred person can't use a Strava code too so they'd be effectively paying for your Gilet?

Not sure, but if not then suppose it comes down to someone wanting a free gilet for themselves (normally £85) Vs saving x% on whatever they are buying. So if they would otherwise get £50 quid off some shorts with Strava code then this may be a more tempting offer if they were after a gilet anyway?
