The point is - and in response to the above usage of 'use a bike to cycle my 2miles each day but the headwinds....' I am saying an e-bike provides a 100% leveller
Don't worry am just bitter I cannot get my ebike this week (due to the weather) smile

E Bikes are great. I was always of the opinion that it won’t help fitness but it makes cycling more enjoyable especially as you get older

It gives people mobility, and an ability to go places and distances they wouldn't otherwise be able to, or be confident doing.

Great bits of kit. I'd rather government subsidized e-bikes than electric cars. A few grand off an e-bike makes them far more accessible than a few grand off a new electric car.

E-bikes can certainly help fitness if you want. The level of assistance is adjustable.

Brilliant!

I can honestly say that of all the people I know who have used the scheme to buy bikes, and that would probably run to 20+, none of them use them to commute.

My nearest office is around 40 miles away, using the motorway, further on A or B roads. Cycling 40+ miles on Saturday or Sunday morning is fine, doing that to and from the office isn't really practical.

The entire system seems to be a joke then.

not really, its a tax payer funded incentive to encourage people to be green,

the tax payer kindly funds me to the tune of £330pm.
Just like the electric car schemes, i have a tesla on it which costs the tax payer c£700pm.

Well I ended up getting this

I haven’t cycled it to work yet as it only arrived Friday and I booked today off on leave. I did take it on a 10mile approx ride along the coast today, no real drama except I ran out of battery about a mile away from home.
Only real problem is for some reason Raleigh chose to build the pannier rack from 18mm tube, most panniers fit up to 16mm.
