Forgive me brothers (and sisters) it has been almost 5 years since my last confession...
I've now got my Cycle Scheme funded Pinnacle Arkose 8 which will become my new commuting wagon.
Since getting it I've de-stickered, de-belled and de-reflectored, flipped the stem and replaced the tyres with Gator Hardshells in 32c size. (This does make it look a bit like a Super-Motard motorbike, being a gravel frame on roadie tyres, but should be perfect for it's intended use.)
I have guards and a rack to go on, which might get done tonight.
There is a new seatpost on the way, as the supplied one is too short. Once that's in place I'll be setting the seat up nice and flat, and getting the bar tops flat as well. The Garmin might have to move, or go on a new mount, as it is loose there.
8 speed Alfine hub should be fine for the hilly commute I have, and minimal winter maintenance once the full guards are in place.

Bit of a change from my Superfly 29er, Arrived yesterday. 2017 spark 720 plus. Had been looking for a 2nd hand trail bike but this was discounted so much it fell close enough to my budget. Quick spin up the hill last night showed me it's going to be fun!
Can't wait to get it out in the Surrey Hills, lookslike the weather will be against me this lunchtime though

The tandem looks like a bloody time capsule! How (un)comfortable is the stoker´s saddle, though?
Neither saddle is comfortable, so I've got 2 new holdsworth vintage looking ones on their way. Also new tyres (gumwall obv's), and brown bar tape to replace the plastic that is there. New koolstop salmons for the brakes, and hopefully that will be it!!Re-commissioned for about the 4th time since I first built this bike with my paper round money circa 1991. It's an Orbit 531c frame sporting a full 105 groupset mavic open4cd rims, mostly survived form the original rebuild in about 1996 but a few parts have been salvaged more recently. It was blasted and powder coated about 6 years ago (3rd rebuild) and still looks quite decent.
I got back on the bike to prep for a fun triathlon I did recently and am finding increasingly hard to not enjoy the fine weather we're having, I've probably done 200 miles over the last 6 weeks and thoroughly enjoyed it, not to mention feeling super smug passing some of the finer machines on the lanes and roads around my way. So much so I've bought a second hand mountain bike too...

My 'new' 1995 Litespeed Obed Titanium. However, I do mean new as it is pretty much all NOS barr the modern forks;
That’s gorgeous. When I first got into mountain biking that was my dream bike (well that and an S-works stumpy of course). How did you get hold of that ‘new old stock’? It’s been in storage for 22 years?!Not strictly on topic:
A MIDDLE-AGED man is very upset after being teased about having a cheap bike.

Picked this up on the weekend. Always loved these and they aren't exactly common!
Have pulled it down to check it over and rebuild it. looking forward to taking it out for a run! Condition wise it seems remarkably good. Its the G2/2.5 with 27.5 wheels running an 8spd Alfine gearbox.
