Just finished building this for my 11yo lad.
16.5" NS Clash with 26" Mavic Crossride wheels, 140mm Fox 32's, 1x10 SRAM drivetrain with Suntour XCT jr cranks (152mm) with 30t n/w and Hope bash guard. X-FUSION Hi-Lo post with Madison Youth Trail saddle, x-lite bars, deore brakes and superstar grips.
Need to shorten hoses but waiting for correct barbs & olives - ordered wrong ones!

That looks familiar, I didn't realise that you are on PH too. That is such a good build for your lad, exactly the sort of thing I look forward to doing for my son in a few years time!16.5" NS Clash with 26" Mavic Crossride wheels, 140mm Fox 32's, 1x10 SRAM drivetrain with Suntour XCT jr cranks (152mm) with 30t n/w and Hope bash guard. I decided to take the best features of my current fleet and build them into my ultimate steed and here it is:- Genesis Croix de Fer titanium frame, Sram WiFli Red etape, Red dZero power meter, Avid discs on Hunt Mason X rims shod with Schwalbe Pro One 28mm tubeless tyres.
The ride is superb, it is light and quick on the climbs like my Canyon but this is also awesome on the descents, where the Canyon was nervous and twitchy due to the small amount of fork trail this is completely stable and has powerful brakes that you can make full use of with the decent width tyres.
Perfect for an Audax, better start training

How do you pedal in that gear in the pic? It looks as though you’d be doing something like two pedal revolutions to every wheel revolution so unless you can pedal REALLY fast surely you’d be going too slowly to stay upright?Antony Moxey said:

If you're in wales and need to get up some really steep terrain it's just about low enough. yes you go slow but short sharp climbs need the eagle 500% range. It was even lower on the 27.5, on the 29er its just about right.Gassing Station | Pedal Powered | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
