Also gutted about malverns as had just built this for the retro race (excuse the messy garage)

Thanks smile
Grips are 90s odi attacks, fitted to match the blue and yellow of the decals though I may change them for a set of black ones instead. I have a brand new original flite that will also be going on, it was a rush build Thursday evening ready for what was supposed to be an amazing weekend of retro goodness...

What colour scheme / year is the Zaskar ? I’ve owned about 20 Zaskars now and never seen that colour.

It's a 96, was polished ally but I had it sprayed white to yellow fade then hydro dipped with the lightning film smile

All I wanted growing up was a set of those Sid's. Looking online they appear to of dropped down the tree and aren't the ultimate fork.

My Canyon turned up 2 weeks ago, which was 4 weeks sooner than teh ship date! Happy boy, sadly that timed with the appauling weather last week, so today was my first opportunity to ride it.

My Canyon Endurace CF SL8 DI2 in Flash blue, try as I might, I just couldn't bring myself to have a black bike.

Nice blue that, when I bought my Endurace in 2017, the choice was black or a dull grey.....

I went stealth...

It would match the new blue Shimano shoes very well laugh My biggest problem is the PH kit doesn’t exactly match the bike anymore!

I probably should have left it there. After 2 rides the Manitou's locked up solid, the kevar sidewall tyres split giving me pinch punctures everywhere and the handlebar corrosion was much worse than I thought. I'm surprised they didn't snap in half!

Forward to today and i've ordered some Exotic carbon rigid forks, NOS Ritchey stem, bars and headset.
I'm going to run it as a lightweight hybrid for a while and see what else breaks!

Have ordered my first hybrid via Vitality Health’s half price scheme with Evans (which is due to finish at the end of August).. BMC Alpenchallenge AC02 One.. was already 25% off so a good deal all in all.

Interested to see how I get on with the Gates belt drive and hub gears. My eldest son wants to take it to Uni with him next year but I think it’ll get nicked!

First time posting in this section, just home from picking up my new (to me) Carrera Vulcan.....

Needs a good clean as it is covered in dust but a bargain I think for the £50 I paid for it biggrin

I got a Pinnacle Arkose 8 last year from Evans, which is incredibly similar to the current one:

https://www.evanscycles.com/pinnacle-arkose-a8-201...

I put Gatorskins, guards and a rack on it, and have used it as a commuter for over a year now. The hub can be a bit notchy, and could need a service, but the whole thing has been easier to keep serviceable through a winter of commuting.

I expect your belt is even better than the chain on mine, as it won't get all claggy with muddy oil gunk, right? Let us know how you get on!

Personally I think it looks better on the spokes than the spins...

No - 3 spokes!

Very much of that era - when things were new and radical (rather than now, when they are just a bit bigger.. then a bit bigger.. oh and now a bit wider..)

The spins have been on a couple of years but dont ride that well. So might sell them and use the cash for some lightweight ones for my other retro build

Never ridden spins but can imagine them being pretty harsh. The zaskar is a stiff ride at the best of timessmile
Didn't you have risers on before as well?
