Taking a mate on Sunday who has never been or experienced drag racing in the flesh, should be fun

Taking the new girlfriend on Saturday, hoping she enjoys it enough to stay on for Sunday too!

He got pretty lucky with this run in qualifying. Great field of cars and bikes as well. Good day

Was a great weekend. We left after lunch today as I had a feeling it was going to get stopped, big contrast after what was almost unbearable heat on Sunday.

Cars were amazing and the kids loved it!

Was a good weekend, thankfully left early yesterday as the weather looked pretty crap, a real shame to see Al's Gasser hit the wall though frown

My wife and I went to this event on the 27th May, a birthday treat for me. I've been to plenty of motorsport events before (MotoGP, world superbikes, touring cars, british superbikes, hillclimbs) but never drag racing.

I have to say, hands down, it was one of the most brilliant experiences of my life - not just in motorsport, but in everything. I'll be going to the next FIA / FIM event in september (the schedule states there will be a night-time qualifying session for the top fuel cars on the friday!). The Methanol cars were incredible, but the top fuel cars were something else. For my wife, who is deaf, it was a very special experience to be able to feel the cars as well as hear them (she can hear some things at the lower frequencies of human hearing ability, not very much though!). Being abloe to wander arounbd the paddock and see the cars bieng worked on was also brilliant. I did manage to be around when one of the top fuel cars was fired up...ear defenders hurridly put back over my ears! The fumes burned my eyes too....nice!

We couldnt spare more than just the saturday, which was a shame but Santa Pod do stream on the internet, so I did keep up with what happened. It's not the same though!
