Hi DragHeads,

I was gutted for the teams, the fans and the SPR Crew while reading the live report on eurodragster.com .

There were some wet weekends in the last decade but this was extemely unlucky.

I hope the two drivers who met the wall are allright and the cars will be on track soon.

On a side note : Is the Jon C who finished runner-up in VW Sportsman the same Jon C from here ?

I also have seen the "Highlander2" JM/A with a muffler, is this a second attempt at getting Junior Dragster a bit less noisy ?

The silencer did not seem to lower Holly´s performance, losing under the 7.9 index in the semis.....

It was extremely muddy in the car parks / fields - we had tickets for Friday and Saturday but decided against camping mid week. And good job too, we had to get pushed into the field and then when we left, we had to get pushed out 150 metres through 6 inches of mud. As we left before 2, I suspect the guy on the quad had a full time job with every car that left.

Saw the crashes on the livestream - just bad luck or cold track or new track or ?

Hello Jon,
congratulations, is it more fun on the other side of the wall (as you introduced yourself as a banking spectator) ?
Is the site that you display online ? I could only find a fb account.

From memory, he blames me for forcing the switch on him. I have no regrets :-)

Having attended since 1979, and done a bit of crewing (making tea, mostly), I found myself at a fork in the crossroads. Going through a divorce, redundancy and staring down the barrel of fifty years old, I realised that if i didn't do it, I never would.
Tet just gave me a shove, and it worked.

I was fortunate enough to recognise that as a poor, twice divorced teacher, I'd never be able to fund it on my own forever, so I started to build a personal brand. It's not to everyone's taste, but it was good enough that when I started approaching sponsors, I had a strong enough offer to get Engine Carbon Clean (with whom I had had no previous connection) to come on board. In the three years since then, we have helped to establish their brand, built up a really good working relationship, made some incredible friendships, and had far more fun that we ever thought possible.

One thing I would say: I thought I knew a lot about Drag Racing, until I actually had a go. Damn, it's tough out there. But (to quote Owen Hayward from about 1982), it really is the most tremendous fun.
