...looks like being a total three day washout. I am gutted, would have been the first time since kids (8yrs!) that I could go. What will they do if the forecast is correct and it rains the whole time?

They’ll do what they did with the events which were rained off earlier in the year, reschedule for a later date.

Bit of a logistical nightmare for an FIA event but I’m sure they’ve had to do it before.

I think they honour the tickets at another event or give a face value credit to use later in the year but I’m not sure as I live within spitting distance so I can check the weather in real time!

Having been before when it rained the delays were painful waiting for the track to dry, I would only go again if the forecast looks certain to remain dry.

On that note Monday's is looking better but 4 days is a lifetime in forecasting terms and anything could happen by then.

My mate & I are coming down from Glasgow, tickets bought & hotel booked for Sun/Mon racing, and if it's rained off we will be gutteder!

We made the journey for the first ever time last September; when we arrived the rain was bouncing six inches off the ground, part of the paddock was flooded, and I discovered my shoes weren't watertight.

There is still stuff to do: all the stalls (and the beer tent) are there, and the drift cars, stunt biker & monster trucks put on a good show despite the soaking wet performance area. You can also stroll round the pits, see the cars & bikes close up and talk to the drivers and crew.

The rain did clear eventually, and through the heroic efforts of the track staff some racing got underway in the early evening and the following morning - and boy was it worth it!

You have to feel so sorry for the organisers, drivers, crews etc., all of whom have made great efforts to provide a spectacular show, only to be denied by our stupid weather.

Have faith!

Seems decent so far, it’s not a scorcher like last weekend but it’s dry at the moment

I'm back. The weather was beautiful, I got sunburn, the cars, the atmosphere and the racing were utterly incredible!

I booked for the Sunday and Monday and expected a wash out after driving up Saturday night in a thunder storm. Amazingly, we got two perfect days. It was my first time at a drag meet and I was very impressed by the organisation and blown away by the cars. The nitro cars were absolutely amazing. Will definitely be going back.

Hopefully, you've now seen what you've been missing for all these years... Unfortunately the weather forecasts can really screw your plans, but based on my own experience, it's worth the trip, because the Pod seems yp enjoy it's own micro-climate good and bad). If you stayed on site at on Sunday night you would have seen the biblical black cloud that was coming in from the South, but did it dump on us? God shines on the righteous,,,

See you in September, if not before.

Yep, totally convinced. So much so that I’m now hunting for a muscle car as the V8 soundtrack is addictive.
