Not been following closely but just checked Q2 times in TF and wondered why all so bad? Was there a track issue? Just curious.

Yes, Top Fuel a bit odd. Only Anita Mäkelä and Antti Horto seemed able to get a grip in qualifying, only ones to run 3s.
Then in today's final, Anita clocks 3.877 (at 309.82mph) to beat her old European record by all of .001sec. Horto runner-up at 3.970/302.83. So the track was there.

And in Pro Mod too, with another European record: Andreas Arthursson won at 5.751/258.30 in his turbo car, while Roger Johansson's nitrous Mustang hit 5.811/246.54 in round one only to redlight in round two.

Add to that the world's first 5-second nitro Supertwin bikes (Vesa Lipponen, Jaska Salakari), though neither managed to win the race.

Roll on the European Finals the weekend after next.

Thanks for the update! Have been following on ED and yes some amazing times you refer to. Well done to Anita a great racer and lovely lady too. I just didn't understand why some of the qualifying was so erratic, clearly the track was capable of 3s if car was tuned up right.

Appreciate the note.
