S2000 or CTR turbo?
Discussion
With the TTS kit/turbo don't forget to factor in other things especially if you go big power turbo, you'll probably want a new clutch, the ACT one is what people go for, the street clutch. No need for a puck clutch. Some say the standard clutch will last for a little while.
Also stiffer engine mounts are recommended or at least an engine torque damper at minimum.
Also you'll need new engine management. The 2006 drive by wire models can run hondata flashpro which is £500 odd. The earlier cars have other options such as AEM and hondata kpro plus others but think these cost a bit more. I'm DBW so dont know about the earlier models.
Then don't forget the labour and mapping time unless you can do that yourself.
Oh and a new map sensor for about £100
I know this as I'm dropping mine in this weekend to DMS for the TTS conversion I've also opted for the DMS 76mm manifold and decat for some more ponies
I'm pretending I haven't noticed how much this is all going to cost me, but it'll be worth it, the car is already very well setup that it troubles cars it shouldn't really on track days, after the TTS kit goes on it should give huge grins

Damm you guys. I've emailed TTS Performance. It doesn't look like the price includes ECU or a map, so that will be an additional £1500, so at almost £6500, plus fitting it's just now worth it!
Kits come up used time to time on the s2ki UK for sale forum, two last month after none for a while, that's how I picked mine up. The science of speed kit from the US is also great and I was looking at that. You'll find quite a few kits come up all the time in the US for sale if you can persuade someone to send it...robinandcamera said:

Superb. Lets us know how you get on I did see a kit last month which was being advertised for around £3200.
What boost will you be running? I'd be happy with 350-400bhp.
Have DMS estimated the number of man hours to carry out the install?

Ye that one came up a few weeks after I bought a slightly higher priced one But the one I bought was only fitted in March by DMS so has only covered a few thousand miles so I guess it was worth the little extra. He is going turbo now.I did see a kit last month which was being advertised for around £3200.

I'm hoping for close to 400, the last owner got 419 but on a different dyno to the one my car will be mapped on. my car dyno'd 219 at the fly standard on the dyno that will be used (the good end of average for a standard car I was told by DMS that did the dyno). I'll see what I end up with. Its the supersport kit not the 'race' kit, so meant to be 10psi of boost.
I just got a total price from Dixon to include clutch swap, the dyno time and the mapper as well, so no idea on the hours worth of labour. It is pretty much a bolt on affair with also the fuel pump to change. The guy I bought it off had the kit off in around a weekend on his drive. The instruction manual is on the TTS site, doesn't look too hard but you need the crank pulley machining which isn't something you can really do yourself, well I couldn't.

Absolutely not to ITBs if they're open trumpets. Been there, done that. Hate the noise. Hate the lack of torque. Enclosed ITBs in a decent plenum (ala BMW M style), now that's a different matter
Thanks again guys and the change to DBW at 2006 is handy to know!
I am now considering getting a LHD one. Where would I find such a beast in this country, or would I have to import one? The reason for it is my girlfrient lost her right ear to meningitis when she was a child, so we can't talk properly in RHD cars.
Been looking around on s2ki.com a lot recently and I'm liking what I see very much. Especially PTuning's turbo kit. Are there any decent UK S2K forums?
Not had time to test drive one yet. Been too busy

I've seen a couple of LHD S2ks around so they are definately out there, but importing would offer a greater variety.
S2Ki.com has a UK area - S2kuk.com is an owners club and does not have it's own forum. It offers discounts etc though but I've never looked into joining.
ETA: If you haven't driven one yet that should be your priorty IMO - it's a fine NA engine and when I go back to turbo cars (petrol and diesel) I am always surprised quite how responsive to S2K is.
Good luck and post pictures when your done!!
