It is now exactly 6 months to the day that the hood & the passenger window on my S2000 stopped working.

It stopped working due to the failure of a module that controls them expired. My auto electrician tells me Honda have twice sent the wrong part.

Yes it is getting on a bit, but I can still get all the bits for my Triumph TR7 & TR8, with out many problems.

For a hero model, that Honda sold in Australia for A$70,000 this is just not good enough.

Add the fact that one seal in my daughters Prelude power steering rack was not in the kit, & was not even listed in their parts book. Honda once my favourite is now on the don't touch list. Pity they don't adequately support their great cars.

They haven't made that model since 2009. A faulty module for a car now at the youngest, nearly 10 years old has put you off a brand?

I'm glad I've never bought a Honda, they sound crap!

Read the post again. I am not worried if a few things fail, but having waited 6 months, & still not able to get a replacement is too much for me.

Your auto electrician has had the car for 6 months ?

Maybe you need a new auto electrician.

I've found that the best way to get the more expensive parts is to identify the part number (I use Lings Honda Parts website, which has all the exploded views), then Google it. This usually throws up various websites in the US who stock the part. I've found it cheaper to buy from the US than go to my local Honda dealer in the UK (because their prices are insane).

My main complaint is that Honda did not have the decency to tell us they no longer supported the car, & were unlikely to ever supply the part. It was only when after 6 months waiting, I tracked down a manager I found out.

I today received my second hand unit, from a US company who souse them from the Japan used parts market. Cost A$240. I have been a real Honda fan, buying pumps & even mowers because of their Honda engine.

No more.

I think your main mistake there, was using a Honda dealership.... I wouldn't go near a main dealer for any car i've owned.

Yep, I'll have to stick to my 1980 & older Triumphs.

Not any where near as much stuff I can't get for them.

Is it not the same situation as your triumphs though? You can hardly walk into a triumph dealer and order the parts you want. Instead you have to source them elsewhere just like you've had to do with your Honda.

I can go to Triumph specialists, & get what I want. I can not go to a Honda specialist, as there aren't any.

Apparently you are better off owning an orphan than a car from an existing manufacturer.

I don't know if you're joking or not. There's probably more Honda specialists in the country than triumph specialists.
