hi all,

My civic ep3 track car has recently starting making this noise on deceleration (in gear). It feels like it's from the floor area. But could be driveshaft/trans I guess.

Have you heard it before? Any ideas? thanks a lot!!

My previous EP3 would make a very similar noise after I changed the B-Pipe, but would take letting off from around 7-8k to notice it. Sounds simple but that would be my first port of call. Presumed it would rattling off something, I crashed it before I had the chance to investigate unfortunately.

Is there a heat shield on the exhaust anywhere? If there is one underneath, that can corrode at the fixings and rattle under deceleration.

These have a heat shield around the driveshaft. They have funny woven bushes where they are mounted. Quite often these washers degrade and the heat shield will vibrate and rattle.

Hey all

FYI...In the end it was diagnosed as a failed rear engine mount. Engine was moving and exhaust transmitting noise to the body.
Expensive fix considering the oem cost of parts and all the rusted bolts!
