Any idea on values.
My step father might be selling his very shortly.

1999 model bought new and full service history from Honda in Stockport.

Red 1 owner from new mileage 90,000 miles garaged all its life.
Any visible rust? Rear quarters/arches?

Rebushed at all?

Prices are on the rise for good ones- however at 20yrs old it will certainly be needing certain things attending to (over & above normal service items)

Hi
I know he had the drivers seat bolster re trimmed about 3 years ago. The rear wheel arches where done about 7 years ago. The car has only done about 600 miles a year for the past few years.

I will take the car out of the garage in the next couple of weeks and have a good luck around it.

Car has had no modifications done at all. Just failed it’s MOT for the first time on Passenger headlight motor not working. I have managed to find a brand new motor as it appears it’s the same motor from a Mazda and a Toyota so once fitted then it will then have 12 months mot on the car.

My headlamp adjusters have been disconnected for ages!!

Any pics of the car?

Certainly at 90k it will need a full rebush. It’s an age thing rather than mileage. Did mine at 65k on a 2000 car & they were tired!

Engine torque mounts will be shot too. Same reason!

Pay close attention to where the rear bumper meets the rear arches & along the sills in front of the rear arch immediately above the side skirts.

Prices are on the up though- which is good news

That's good to know regarding the headlight adjusters for mot purposes. Don't know if mine are disconnected or not but if it's not, at least I'll know what to do if it becomes an mot issue smile

There's a chap who is selling his DC2 - I believe it's a UK car - only selling it as he's bought a Cup Megane, he's the son of my old neighbour. His dad drives a supercharged MX5 and a 550i touring. Anyway, they're about as petrolhead as you can get - he's in Reading. I could ask him for the details if you like. It's white and has been looked after by TGM, who as above, really are the Gurus.

TGM look after my s2000, I've been in this chap's DC2 for a drive and it was a lot of fun, very raw.

Like I say, PM me for details and I can find out if he's still seeking to sell it. I'm sure he'd price fairly and negotiate sensibly. It's in good shape, AFAIR.

Hi, one has just sold recently on the UK DC2 Integra forum for 10k+. It took a while to sell though. It had been restored/maintained to a very good condition and the milage was on 82k. I suggest you take a look at it in the cars for sale section cause it would give you something to compare with condition wise and hopefully help you set a fair asking price. The seller by the nane "Zen" also listed a full detail of all the work he's had done.

As above - condition / maintenance (beyond servicing) is everything now on these.

A lot of dross being advertised at c.£10k 'because', yet up close they need rust sorting, they need paint or panel alignment, they need dampers, bushes, seat bolsters...and that's just the stuff you can see. Or worse, you can see stuff's been done on the cheap (if i see another advert with 'polybushes' mentioned I'll go round and kill the owner), because it was done back when these were £3-5k cars.

A well-maintained, straight, unmolested/unmodified car is easily, genuinely north of £10k now and probably still climbing.

A car which has seen nothing more than servicing for 20 years, or has been Barried with cheap coilovers and a badly-fitting CF bonnet is going to be carrying +/- £5k of work to bring it back up to where these cars SHOULD be...
...which is a problem as these owners still think they're on a goldmine.

This....

Proper honest DC2's are easily north of £10k...the DC5 doesnt seem to quite hold the same money.

Theres a guy on here with a thread about his Minty DC2, and it really is.

That car would make near £15k In my mind, as its so damn right.

They are a phenomenal car, but..... age and Chavs are the issue now.

Even the one I bough had loads of issues I missed.....stickting calipers, ABS warning bulb not working so ABS not working etc etc.

Buy on condition and nothing else.

Mine is a most certainly a good’un. I did a bit of research a while back to establish how many ‘really good’ UK cars remain- & I reckon 30-50 in the country in varying degrees of ‘standard’ fettle. More than I thought being truthful.

I certainly wouldn’t know where to value it as I’m not selling.

Certainly it’s been pretty pampered. All the above bits mentioned have either been been dealt with or had preventative measures applied.

I like to think of myself as a DC2 enthusiast too- so I’m pretty on top of what goes/warning signs & getting on top of them sooner rather than later!

As good as stock to the untrained eye.

Given all the rave reviews a DC2 gets I’d certainly consider mine as a north of £10k car.

For a good solid & original UK car requiring a refresh @90k- new suspension bushes/motor mounts, rear calipers, bolster foams etc etc then I’d suggest something around the £8k is achievable. This assumes the Milano red paint is still red (hopeful if garaged!)

Whilst they are sought-after, certain bits are no longer available- dampers, OEM Honda clutch, ABS sensors (in the UK) to name a few....

Fantastic cars, but need keeping on top of to really deliver the best experience in my experience

Many thanks for all the advise.
Well after fixing the passenger headlight beam motor this morning I have convinced him to keep the car for at least another 12 months.
Going to Honda next week for its MOT ticket as that was the only reason it failed.
