Just picked ours up. Took a punt on the colour but we are very happy with our choice.
I have to admit, that does look VERY nice. cool

That colour is Crystal Blue, right? It's darker than I thought it would be.

Yep…it reminds me of Suburu world rally blue…goes quite dark from certain angles

Press Embargo ends on 27th October - I hope it comes in under 40k . Plan is trade in a lightly used GR Yaris.

Do you think that will be the UK as well as the states? Don’t think it will be under £40k. I’ve got a FK8 currently and will swap to the FL5 as a keeper if it’s less than £45k but anything more and I’ll be keeping the FK8

Went to dealer and had a good look today. It's lovely.

The interior is much higher quality than I was expecting. Overall it feels like a really high quality product.

They had a red one and a blue one, both look cool but I am leaning towards the red. Although on the way out, a white one caught my eye and that looked very good too!

I will wait and see what Toyota bring out in the next 3 months (there are rumours of a new Prius) then I will take a test drive and decide.

Yes - it may not have the Leg End's glorious seats, but otherwise the interior isn't that far off in Advance spec.

Slender A-pillars and low H-point really make it feel like a proper Honda again.

Once can only hope it drives as well as it sits.

Couple of weeks into ownership now and we are starting to see some good and bad points.

Bad points:
1: Two bad rattles from the centre trim which only occur on certain types of tarmac. The same rattle occurred on a test drive but we thought it was a one off, but apparently not. Reports from the USA seem to suggest this might be an on-going issue.
2: The door and centre armrests are pointless…they are too low.
3: There is no high level boot light when you open the rear hatch, so if the side boot light is covered with luggage, you can’t see a thing in the dark.
4: Even with the adaptive light system, the headlights aren’t as bright as we were expecting.

Good points:
1: Very relaxing to drive ( apart from rattles)
2: Easy 60mpg on a 100 mile trip on all sorts of roads, and over 77mpg on a local 5 mile shopping trip, when it ran on EV mode for a lot of the time.
3: Plenty of overtaking grunt.
4: Already had multiple positive comments about the colour we choose…blue.

Where is it coming from? Dash or centre console?

Both…totally dependent on the type of road surface, not bumps. One seems to come from under the gear selector switch area, and the other from somewhere in the centre of the dash, but we haven’t narrowed it down yet. It isn’t the multimedia unit which is often the culprit in the US apparently. Probably seems even worse because the car seems so quiet otherwise.

Getting some seriously impressive indicated mpg on short local journeys…107mpg for a little 4 mile hop.

I have the advance trim. It’s not a bad car, but not a great one. Mpg is good, the amount of road noise is not good. Headlights are poor to useless. Unlike many reviews stating that the seats are leather they are in fact coved in leatherette. The paint is very thin, so will chip.
However I think that all car manufacturers are cutting corners these days. I did find that the Honda was and is a much better drivers car then the Toyota which had know fun factor at all. Toyota dealerships next to useless made going Toyota a none start.
How the Honda Civic will stand the test of time, I don’t know.

Uk seats are leather….dealer confirmed this with Honda UK. I also don’t understand your comment about the lights being poor…they are matrix LEDs and seem fine to me. Are you sure you are activating them?

Hi, U.K. seats are NOT leather. Honda do not use leather in their cars anymore.
As to the car, I have put 5700 miles on the clock to date. Mainly mixed driving.
What’s good. Well mpg is good, best 88mpg driving in stop and go traffic for miles in town. Motorway only, not so great at around 50mpg. Overall around 65mpg.
Bad bits, lots of road noise, which on a long motorway trip becomes wearing.
Headlights are not that great, giving a grey light, not white like my old bmw.

Odd thing. At 5000 miles, I had a check oil level warning come on. So I stopped at a service station. Checked the oil as best I could.( the end of the dip stick is orange, just the same colour as the oil, great idea. Not ) ring Honda next day and was told that it’s a build in warning as Honda had oil problems with the 1.5lt engine. I had them double check the oil level later anyway.
Do I like the car. Yes, it’s ok. Not great due to noise levels and the plastic seats not being the best.
Would I buy again. At the moment I would say yes.

Brochure and website says leather, so it is leather. It will just be enough leather to allow them to call it leather.

Possibly highly processed plasticky leather, but that still counts.

Otherwise they are misrepresenting what they are selling, and that would get them in big trouble.
