Best deal I’ve heard recently was £4.5k off list plus a free 5 year service pack.. Absolute bargain compared to a couple of months back!

And as above, only ~250 left now - I wouldn’t expect them to be bringing too many more in

With roughly 600 already registered, that’ll end up less than 1000 on the road

Why do you believe no more will come to the UK, Will? The base car has been facelifted, it remains to be seen whether this flows down the FL5.

My local dealer is offering a deal similar to the one you mentioned. I am not sure if I am ready, but I would be happy to hold out if there are more cars next year.

HUK was saying that it will ONLY be bringing in around a 1000 units and that would be the UK allocation. This is mainly down to restrictions by EU etc and the ratio of greener cars to fossil fueled

Cheers guys, appreciate the replies.

Good luck with the collection avidjames! thumbup
Thank you! Absolutely loving the car so far, just finished the run in miles and I can confirm the car does make a speed warning beep. I've not found it annoying at all yet as it's very quiet but I heard you can still turn it off.

Once all this ice & snow clears I'll try and test to confirm.

With the GR Yaris getting a lot more expensive and this getting cheaper it makes it seem decent value all of a sudden.

That is lovely, same colour as mine, I also used to have a white DC2, wish I kept it as was a minter. Get yourself on the UK FL5 FB group, a really nice bunch on there (if you use FB)

Just ordered a FL5 Type R in Red. Should be here before the year ends. Never had a Honda before, my previous 2 cars have been both Hyundai's. A new 2018 I30N and then a 2023 I20N. Both have been great, but I am really looking forward now to the driving experience of the FL5 Type R.

I'll go against the grain here and whilst cars have become very expensive, I don't know what the fuss is about with the FL5. Sure compared to the FK8, there's been a big jump but it is what it is. These are low volume and engineered to be the best driving hatch out there. Having driven one, I'd say it's worth every penny. Whomever has one is fortunate indeed.

I've not driven many other hot hatches but I've never driven another car that feels so right and so accessible from the moment you set off. The driving position is perfect and literally everything feels beautifully balanced, from the pedals, their positioning, steering weight, gear change and the way it goes down the road. Honda really deserve the praise it gets for the engineering that's gone into this car.

I doubt this car will lose loads in depreciation so £50k (less discount) is money well spent IMO. I still haven't seen one on the road so the rarity factor is there too. Unlike my EP3 where there was one around every corner.

I'm still working the numbers but it does seem that it's pretty easy to get one at the moment i.e. no massive waiting list. How long this lasts I don't know.

Just ordered one too - in Racing Blue!
Theye saying mid-December, this side of Christmas. Cannot wait.

I had previously owned an FN2 which was a joy on the back roads. This FL5 is going to replace our S4 Avant (2018/petrol) and couldn't be more excited. I'll miss the Audi - it's great in a straight line and does luxury motorwaying very very well but doesn't have the joy and engagement of driving that I'm looking for

I doubt it'll lose much either.

The dealers I was talking to when securing my car were all saying similar things such as:

They were previously only allowed to sell 1 R per quarter and honda were only releasing small quantities across the network

And for the current deal (£2500 Honda deposit contribution + 6.9% rate) which ends at the end of this month, they allowed them to sell more but the incoming batch for December only has single digits left for the available colours. And for next year they don't know if they will be getting any more.

Could just be dealer talk to get me to sign lol but seems like supply is lower and will stay this way

On the other hand, there is a narrative that these were overpriced from day 1, so it could work the other way and depreciation could hit harder

It's interesting. I've been on AT looking but decided to visit a number of dealers locally. They all had one in the showroom for immediate sale but not on AT. So is worth visiting in person.

Don't get me wrong, £50k is a lot of money but it also buys you some unbelievably mundane stuff. For the smiles per mile, this is fine. I honestly think some are stuck in the, "that much for a Honda?!?!" camp when Honda have always been a top manufacturer.

I think people forget that cars are ultimately machines and heavily engineered. The value/quality is in all the stuff you don't see, like reliability and performance etc. But sadly general perception is that quality is some soft touch plastic, an area where Japanese cars have tended to lag.

Same deal as myself, the £2.5K Honda contribution and decent rate. When I asked about colours my dealer said there was 15 available in this batch, and the colours were 1 red, 1 blue, 1 grey, 6 white and 6 black. So maybe all the dealers are saying the same thing.

I ordered a grey one about a month ago. The car is expected in about 2 weeks.

I originally thought this car was out of my price range, but recent deals and the price of everything else has brought it back in. I had an FK8 previously (as well an an S2000, FN2, DC5) which I loved and never really wanted rid of. Crazy post-lockdown values proved too tempting. Toyed with both the GR Yaris and GR86, but glad i've held out.

Selfishly, I hope there's very few more to come into the UK. I think residuals will be very strong anyway, which helps justify it. With the way things are going, it could be a 'forever' car though.

P.S. Is anyone a member of these international FL5 Facebook groups? The ones full of Americans who buy the car for $10k over list, then in the first week spend a furth $15k on parts, including wheels that destroy the whole geo setup, wrapped in tyres that are crap compared to MPS4S. I can't comprehend it. Each to their own.

Could be a forever car for sure. I've got it on PCP so that final payment might be a bit nasty to refinance but we'll see

For anyone interested, they've extended the 6.9% finance + £2500 deposit contribution until end of march by the looks of it

Wonder what that's hinting at in terms of supply
