Amazingly both she and the driver were unharmed
Why..? Quite a gentle energy dump there.
Maybe the girl involved will clarify, but it looked like a hefty shunt, and the tyres ended up pressing the screen/A pillars. Looked like no fun at all to me TBH. Remember this is a Fiat, not a rally car with cage/buckets/hans.

I was there on Friday for the trackday and there was only one red flag all day, and even then, I think it was just because a car spun off or broke down after the Esses.

Spent about 2 hours in the morning on the Saturday and there were about 3 or 4 red flagged sessions.

Says it all really.

Was watching from Quarry and a few cars spun there. One even started to reverse back on to the track while other cars were coming round!!

Having said that, I can confirm the tyre walls at camp are very squishy. I had a minor introduction to them earlier in the year, albeit a lot slower and further down than where the Fiat hit. Hit on the driver side and then spun the car back around 90 degrees. Would have been a tad worse had it been the pit wall!

Wow that's how to do it then! I was at rally day and can appreciate its a tricky bend but even so that approach baffles me!

Glad all involved are ok!

Glad all are ok, However driving beyond his and the cars limits quite some margin should not be done at all especially at 'Combe and even more so with someone in the passenger seat.

What an imbecile....

obvious inexperience plus understeering badly prepared fiat (defintely not fit for track use, although people think they are ,cheap track fun for one reason they are rubbish ) glad to see people were not hurt (exceptionally good luck) hope all concerned learn from this . watching the video shows no track experience at all ,totally wrong line ,way to much speed ,did the driver black out ? , they would have been better having a go on fairground dodgems if this is there style . seen this far to often over the years everybody thinks they are a good driver ,it is the biggest insult ever to be told you are a bad driver ,but itreally is a skill that needs to be honed over many years of experience and you can still get it wrong ,this though is nothing to show off about it just says look how stupid i am,if you race and win or have agood track day then you have had a good day thats all , unless you are mr or ms seriously inflated ego , its only a bit of fun at the end of the day wether you race or track day and its not worth getting hurt over , dont want to see things like this again .

hello im the coupe driver involved in this^^

firstly we are both absolutely fine though thanks lads.
sure, i was heaving into camp corner VERY fast, not enough braking basically regardless how hard i was on the brakes.

@trackracer, i was tight and braking late and not shaving speed at all which is unusual for these brakes^^. and its been 2 years since i was a regular at snetterton so its been a while, but no need to start ranting about being a BIGiAM @trackracer, have your say with a bit of decency as should all the other cold callers on this thread. majority are fair comments though and

lessons have been learnt the hard way.

EDIT, sarah who was in the crash with me has already posted, youve made her to sound like a dick and now youre too shy to admit who posted this on your own mx5nutz club forum smile good bloke.

Hey this is my video.. I wondered where all the youtube hits were coming from!

Glad to hear from the driver/passenger.. I was considering not uploading the video, but heard you were both fine so went ahead. Looked like a nasty accident. From where I was sitting it just seemed like late braking, locked wheels and severe understeer.

Don't let this put you off, use it as a learning experience. If anything, at least you've now found the limit.

I did a similar thing last year (same corner), although I managed to flick it at the last minute and avoid a crash. I wont ever go out at Combe again without a properly setup car! Was a scary experience. How were the Marshall's with you after? I saw they quickly locked the car away and stopped people having a look.

I won't come down hard on you steves106, but I am so pleased I wasn't in your path of doom. You have helped me so much with your crash. You have helped me confirm that I will never do an Action Day ever again. I like my car too much to put it out there with those nerdowells of the steering wheel.

Hope you get another car soon and go back to Action Days at Combe a.s.a.p, I need to go and watch an Action Day, that gave me a huge grin. Thanks for the entertainment.

Er, why would you? Steves106's video, which kinda indicates that he wasn't the driver, coupe20vturbo, who posted directly above Steve.....

Argh, beaten by Cappo whilst I was typing!

Still, it's cool that we've actually got posts from all the people involved with the video. Just need to get one of the marshalls or another driver to offer an opinion now! lol!

It can get a bit holier than thou around here, despite the presence of criticisms well made.

Everyone makes mistakes, everyone is an idiot sometimes when they should or do know better. I'm pretty confident the driver on the Fiat is unlikely to do that again and is lucky to have the chance to be able to use that new found knowledge.

I'm happy the driver and passenger have gotten off relatively unscathed, a lesson for me the next time I'm pushing when I really shouldn't be.

Quite right. And, if you go near the Speed/Plod/Law forum, be sure to state your case precisely, and without ambiguity, or you will be on the end of concrete assumptions that are cast in stone.

It warn't like this when I were a nipper, laddie, it were a right chummy place in them days...hehe

I did 80+ laps on this action day and saw no more bad driving than I have seen on lots of normal trackdays with expensive cars and big ego's. There were beginners there didn't know their way around the circuit, but we all have to start somewhere.

I have been on normal trackdays with 60 cars and seen 10+ red flags just in the morning, so I would expect to see a few on this day when each session probably had 10 to 15 people doing their first session of the day, and lots of the red flags was for breakdowns, probably a few due to the hot weather. I didn't see any car to car contact.

For me it was a brilliant day and I had no problems with other drivers.

I think the worse driving comes from the green Lupo/Polo a few seconds after the red flags come out - everyone else is slowing and they have to take to the grass to avoid another wreck.

But at least everyone is fine and there we go!

Nasty to watch. Imagining the scene unfolding from the drivers seat is pretty unpleasant whatever the cause!
