The C63's sounded incredible, glad to hear its 'only' over heating.

We were in the Black Focus ST and the Black Leon Cupra R (red wheels) - all newbies so hope we did ok!

Both GTR's were incredibly quick, i'll see what pics/videos we have!

Thanks - anything would be appreciated.

The white one is owned by the next door neighbour of EVO's David Yu -its running around 600bhp which is just a touch less than me at around 625bhp!

Incidentally I heard that the BMW had an instructor in the car with him and the driver was being urged on but then bailed mid corner and lifted....also heard that the air bags didn't go off.
What camera(s) do you use to create that - VBOX?

cheers!

I was there too with a couple of friends in our Impreza`s and one who is having his engine rebuilt so he came along in his wife`s clio cup,as Bedford is on our doorstep we attend trackdays as often as we can (we have done a few other tracks but why travel when we have this track so close?)and i have seen a fair few cars have a problem with that corner leading to the pit straight, but this incident was without doubt the worst i have seen but to be fair i think the driver was a tad unlucky to roll as he did, the luckiest guy i think was the driver on the pit exit who, if he had been a few yards further would have ended up with an M3 as a bonnet mascot!

I have done plenty of trackdays and understand that it is my responsibility to make sure that the track is clear when I join it, but when there is a traffic light system or a pit exit marshal holding me or waving me out, I do rely to some extent that they have checked to make sure the track is clear. Quite how the car leaving the pit lane got the ok to go is a mystery, but if I was leaving the pit lane on a green light and an M3 implanted itself in my car, I would be having more than a serious chat with the organisers.
At both Bedford and recently at Mallory, I have had cars released right in front of me and at both venues, just like most circuits you are travelling pretty damned quick at the point where cars leave the pit exit.
It would be nice to think that the pit exit marshals were looking after our interests!!

At Bedford there is no signalling. The marshal is only there to check wrist bands.

It's not a great entry point. I really have to skew my car to the left in order to see back along the track as with a harness and helmet on I can't look back over my shoulder.

Exactly, just use common sense.

The track is wide and 99% of cars exit the bend on the outside of the straight allowing safe entry from the pits.

For the 1% or so that don't follow the above! don't exit at that point!

As for the BeeEmm, I still find it hard to believe it happened.
Entry speed was too high and it seems that he held the throttle till the end, big mistake.

If you are already on track at Bedford you can clearly see what is coming out of the pit lane and there's plenty of space to sort it out towards the hairpin, it's a fast approach for sure but there's plenty of room to brake a bit early if you are unsure if a safe pass is possible.

At Mallory the pit exit is off-line and drivers should have been told in the briefing to stay to the right as they enter Gerrards on their outlap allowing plenty of space for cars to see and pass them.

At places like Cadwell the marshal controls access to the circuit but at the examples you gave it is down to the drivers to join the circuit or control their car in a safe manner.

Hi
This video is made with 3x Go Pro cameras. I link them wirelessly to a remote which controls all of them simultaneously so they are easy to work with during the day.

Thanks, the VX220 is a turbo. Its had a gentle re-map with lower temp plugs, alloy intake pipe and top hat, has a gearbox and engine breather tank and is now upto around 230Bhp at a guess.
I also run Gaz Mono dampers with harder springs and TD wheels with Yoko Ao48s. Brakes are Mintex 1155 pads and a high temp fluid. Apart from that its standard

This is the first trackday i have done with Javelin but have done a good many with MSV,and i must say MSV have always had a marshal checking bands and also working the pit light, and to be honest the young lad that was the marshal on this day didnt really seem too interested in what was going on and i wasnt the only one to notice.

Pit lights are only for track numbers and condition, not for telling you track is clear. People need to take responsibility for their actions and the whole thing will be safer. However driving at speed can be dangerous and bad things happen.

If someone wants to post up the Spa Evl/M3 pit exit crash that will stir a few extra feelings.

i bow to your superior knowledge then,, but i have been held by the marshal when there is on coming traffic and the lights have been red, then when given the all clear by the marshal they have been turned to green but yes,you are correct you are responsible for your own actions and the safety of others and yourself.
