Any PH'ers going to the Destination Nurburgring event on 2nd May? If so, I look forward to meeting you down there. I'll be on the 08:20 Eurotunnel from Folkestone to Calais on 1st May. I'll be in:

- a McLaren 12C (blue) if it can be fixed in time, or
- a Lotus 3-Eleven (yellow and green) if the McLaren can't be fixed in time and the weather looks good, or
- a Audi RS4 (blue), if the McLaren can't be fixed in time and the weather looks pants!

Coolio, see you there. Looking forward to it.

Are you staying at the Lindner Casino Hotel or one of the smaller traditional style hotels? I used to always stay at the latter but recently have been sold on the convenience of the former.

Guesthouse Fuchsrohre for me. They're more accommodating and don't mind storing emergency tools, wheels, jacks etc...

I'm driving over in my 996tt (and on track) and a mate in his R8 GT is coming down too, though not on track this time.

We're both on 10:20 Eurotunnel on Sunday morning and staying at the Tiergarten.

Look forward to meeting a few of you guys perhaps!

I`m just waiting for Benny to mention another car, we`re up to 3 now with the Audi. laugh

In all seriousness though, it`s good that you have access to so many cars, it certainly gives you options if you have an issue ! smile

I`ll be arriving Monday mid afternoon and will see you at the Signing on Monday thumbup The Golf is all ready and I`m off work on Friday so I`ll get it loaded onto the trailer then. We`re on the Sunday night Ferry to Rotterdam.

Somewhat excited is an understatement

Are DN the only private option? I'm itching to go again at some point this year and whilst the TF evenings were cheap I only managed 3 laps as I needed to let the car cool down in between laps.

3! That's daft, even in a whizz bang turbo should be able to bag 6+ on an eve, back off well before gantry & then start gentle to t13 gets all the temps ok.

Are several other options to DN, not many as good value or as well run tho. If you've got deep pockets the Manthey day is well regarded, dunno if can take non pork tho.

Something is up with the car, I fear I had an underlying issue and the driving from last week has caused something to conk out cooling wise. Will be taking a closer look at it over the weekend. I'll be upgrading the cooling setup before the next trip assuming I keep the car.

Back to driving the trust shed car this week whilst I save up for the next trip!

McLaren won't be fixed in time frown
Really want to take the 3-Eleven but weather is looking dodgy frown
RS4 Avant it might have to be. Great autumnal road lugger with wonderful NA V8 but a track car?...ummm.

If I can't get the 928 ready in time would Darren be OK if I turned up in my Smart ForTwo? I could almost manage 82mph down Dottinger Hohe...

Can't possibly see a problem, I think that just scrapes into the 107% rule. As in, a turbo-charged 911 is not likely to be going more than 107% faster than that. hehe

Grow some smile I would expect to see 160+ under the bridge if I was in a 996TT...

All this talk of DN and the earlier CD is making me green with envy. Worst of all, the GT3 has a new set of A048s and a new set of spare wheels with RSRs as wets and yet I have no holiday time left...

Enjoy and be safe

TBF I did say more than 107% faster which, if you work it out, is around 160. biggrin

Not exactly sure what I got last trip -too busy scanning the road ahead for cars that had dawdled out of the pits and down into the dip (I'd been warned about that!) but it was thereabouts.

I expect to see 160+ in my 30 year old 230k mile 928 on Tuesday, unless it's wet in which case I'll be hitching rides while waiting for braver folk to dry the track for me.
