Any body used Decibel Devels, I like the idea of having a silencer that fits in the exhaust rather one that bolts on and sticks out of the back, opinions and experiences greatly received.
Thanks, Trev

depends entirely on the setup and what you are looking to lose?

It's a TVR Chimaera so rover V8, at the moment I am 97db and have a trackday booked at castle Combe which has a 100db limit, it's more of an insurance policy but if I am going to invest £130 I would like to be sure I would loose 5db

Supposedly, Castle Combe meters read higher (about 5%) than other circuits, so it may be tight even with a 5dB baffle.

Don't know if they still do the lower drive-by measurements though.

Expensive aren't they! I couldn't really find any info and tried all sorts of things, but eventually took the plunge on a pair of these. I did some tests on them here: http://alfadax.com/content/after/2016/croft.htm

In summary, yeah, about 3dB reduction which is pretty good, and better than anything else I've tried, aside from great wodges of wire wool stuffed up the pipe! Didn't seem to detract too much really. I've since repacked my silencers with acoustafil which has taken it down to 100-101 so I can get by on the 105dB days without them anyway.

Aside from that, easy to fit, don't stick out too much, the only downside is the cost really.

Really interesting read thanks for the information, I think I can insert the silencers fully into my exhaust so hopefully they should work a bit better.

Pack behind them with wire wool for the test too!
I take it Coombe is static only rather than drive by?

Pipewerx make an insert baffle that reduced my M3's DB output from 102db to 97db, only £20 too. He can custom make them to your requirements.

Thanks for that I will give them a call, I have managed to borrow a set for Castle Combe but need to get something sorted long term.
